  3. I finished a Mathematics Degree... for me, the hardest part of the whole journey was trigonometry. I loved mathematics in general but I hated and still hate trig.

  4. I had the misfortune of having to learn ADA for a University course. I loathed it. Way too verbose for starters. Kind of like a bloated verson of pascal without pascal's simplicity.

  5. I bought mine decades ago, and as you say, it's a classic. It's still on my book shelf. I still do a small amount of C coding, maintaining a legacy code base. My "favourite" languages are Assembly, C and C++. And LISP was a bit of fun. I prefer the low level stuff.

  6. I did the other way. I picked the jobs most suited to the tools I preferred... 99% C++. Saved me a lot of hair pulling and head bashing learning a bunch of crappy "flavour of the month" scripting languages.

  7. I hate java. I've been trying to learn it for 25 years. My brain says no. Too many years coding in C and C++.
