Here in Spain where I live we produce almost all our own fruits and vegetables, meats and dairy produce, my favorite rustica bread, etc. I never need to check the labels except when I see something that is out-of-season and I am likely to find fruits from Spanish-speaking countries in Central and South America such as delicious large black grapes from Bolivia. you can imagine my surprise when I came home from shopping in a local supermarket only to discover a small bag of lovely large potatoes without blemishes. There was the sticker telling me that they were from "Israel"! I couldn't believe my eyes and I was angry with myself for being so careless. It will not happen again. I found myself wondering why potatoes were imported to Andalucía where we have our own potatoes year 'round including my favorite red-skinned potatoes in all shapes and sizes, particularly tasty when fried. In our own small way we can all participate in boycotting produce from the Jewish state and its illegal settlements.
