  12.  @DejanTesic  Of course; John Mearsheimer sees China as the main competitor for world hegenemy with the United States. As the main power in East Asia and with an economy which has surpassed the United States in the past year, China must be seen as the #1 threat to the United States. For this reason, Mearsheimer says the United States must end the proxy war in Ukraine and "pivot" to Asia in order to "contain" China as Vietnam was contained for years in the 1960s and early 1970s. Mearsheimer is aware that the signs of the Trump appointments indicate that Trump wishes to end the war in Ukraine and, as he hates China, he intends to do as Mearsheimer suggests, causing a trade war with China in order to crush its threat to American hegemony in the countries which surround China, putting a choke hold of pressure points to destroy China's economy as it has done to several other countries over the years. You know how Trump hates China. Mearsheimer got his wish and I wonder whether he is aware that China is no threat to the United States. This is the main contradiction Mearsheimer has with Jeffrey Sachs.
