The Nazis did what? You got 15 thumbs up which worries me because I have no idea which of several topics mentioned by Pascal you refer to but others do understand. Did Hitler get interviewed by an American journalist? Are you referring to conscription by the Kiev government? Merkel only signed the Minsk Agreement to buy time to arm Kiev so maybe you are referring to England and France only signing the Munich Agreement to buy time to arm? Sorry. The Nazis did what?

@lundqvjrl9359 Maybe so. Thanks. I would say it doesn't follow that lowering a conscription age means defeat. In the case of Ukraine, they are already defeated but are keeping up the fight.

@28gire-jp1tw Yes and No; I agree with you about Ukraine today but I do not agree with your hindsight regarding the Germans in WWII. Up to very late in WWII, there was always the possibility that the Anglo-Saxons would agree to the terms being offered by the Third Reich to accept a German surrender on terms which would have them switch sides to prevent a Soviet capture of the whole of Eastern Europe. Eisenhower was being offered this but insisted on an unconditional surrender of German troops to the Communists as well as the Capitalist states. The Germans preferred to go down fighting. This is their military legacy of the 20th Century.

@thomaskalbfus2005 When you get to study modern history you will learn that Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union and Ukrainians were fighting the Germans as members of the Red Army. The 1st Ukrainian Front (Пéрвый Украи́нский фронт), previously the Voronezh Front (Воронежский Фронт), was a major formation of the Soviet Army during World War II, being equivalent to a Western army group.
