Comments by "Jean" (@Jean-rg4sp) on "Why You Shouldn't Trust Anyone." video.
This video reminds me of my undergraduate study of philosophy and, in particular, the art of understanding and communication (hermeneutics). We cannot expect to agree with others or expect others to agree with us concerning any given subject. This merely means we do not share the presuppositions of each other. I cannot write a book here on YouTube so I will limit myself to saying there must be many like myself who are subscribed to your channel, Pascal, and we get recommendations to watch your videos like this one because we share some important presuppositions about our world and the people in it. We are grateful for your perspective because we can feel we are not alone in our understanding and we can learn from your videos when we are challenged by your arguments. Naturally, others will not subscribe to you and there are some who will criticize you because they think you need to learn from them even though their presuppositions are different from yours. So, some Swiss academic thinks you are wrong. I also learned about the fallacy of ad verecundiam so differing from some respected authority or even from good friends means we must have the courage to be alone. Have courage, Pascal. You are not alone.
