It is a common fallacy to personalise hostility between two countries or more. It is politicians who make wars but true leaders do speak for people which means they represent their people. An example is Ireland whose leader or prime minister (taoiseach), Leo Varadkar was implored weekly at questions to the taoiseach in parliament (dáil) by the main opposition party (Sinn Fèin) for seven straight weeks to join with South Africa's filing with the International Court of Justice in condemnation of Israel for genocide. Tens of thousands in the small country demonstrated in the streets and called on Varadkar to act but he refused. He clearly did not represent the Irish people de facto although he was noted for his hubris by the way he spoke on behalf of the Irish people. A week ago he resigned and a new taoiseach replaced him. Two days later Ireland joined with South Africa in its filing. These politicians have much power and influence but the reality of politics, especially in democracies, has a way of giving the boot to leaders who have lost touch with their people.

I see things rather differently concerning the analogy of the two brothers arguing over a piece of Lego at 19:04 where Dr. Ulrike Guérot proposes separation to solve the quarrel. She further interprets the suggestion of the pope to show the white flag as a symbol of separation between the warring parties of the Kiev régime and the Russian Federation. I suppose one can add the Israeli war on Gazans and propose a two-state solution to separate the Israelis and Palestinians. Instead, I think the solution for the brothers is for them to be taught to treat each other with respect and to learn to play together and for the parent to insist on this. Similarly, the white flag is one of truce, to bring the two sides together in negotiation rather than separation without contact. And not to have a two-state solution in Palestine but one in which there are equal rights, mutual self determination, and the right of return of refugees rather than more influx of foreign European Jews.
