  8.  @soulcapitalist6204  Nothing I wrote is contradicted by what you wrote. All most people in Germany at the time of the Third Reich cared about on the subject of race was that the Germans were the purest Europeans and they were happy to accept Nordic people as cousins. They let the 𐌔𐌔 Race Office busy themselves with racial purity charts and doctrine but would have paid no attention to it in their daily lives. Some might even have considered it bunkum.

  9.  @soulcapitalist6204  I don't doubt that the Nazis were racists and I accept that those in the Department of Racial Hygiene would have believed in a hierarchy of races in Europe but I also believe that it was only the very few extremists who held this position. Most Germans did not bother themselves with this nonsense and were content to let the Party have a view on this. In contrast, most Germans were content for Germany and Germans to be the Master Race and others came second. The Germans knew they were from a modern industrialized country with an ability to dominate Europe and were content to have favorable attitudes toward the Nordic peoples next and then the Mediterranean people. They had no desire to compete with the Fascists in Italy or Spain and while they understood that their future was in moving East, the Slavs and Poles were considered lower races. They were learning this in their schools and at Hitler Youth meetings. It was all nonsense of course.

Just because the Italian fascists supposedly did not form a political party until the NSDAP had already been a political party is no reason to believe that the Italian fascist movement had no inspiration for the Nazis. Also, Hitler's Workers Party was not already a party in 1921 because in reality it was not a political party working to gain Reichstag seats until it was completely restructured to be a national political party in 1925, well after the Italian Combat Movement of March 1919. Sorry.

  15. The Junker officers were in a class of their own. Hitler inherited this social breed and found many of them wanting. For officers, he preferred young Nazis who were men of obedient action rather than the privilege of birth which threw up too many prima donnas who dressed and spoke like elites but too often failed to put the nation before their own miserable lives.

  18. Some of us disagree with TIK who gives his opinion that Eisenhower "did the right thing" by not dismissing Patton for assaulting his own soldiers (38:35). TIK likes to trick us into thinking Eisenhower disregarded Patton solely as a matter of principle that public opinion (as well as medical opinion and other generals) should not dictate command decisions but this is neither here nor there. On the merits of the charge against Patton that he was a disgraceful antisemitic bully who pulled rank because he knew he could get away with it should have been all that Eisenhower cared about. Eisenhower should have understood that no one is indispensable, not even a vain, loudmouth, racist.

  19. Spain was impoverished by a protracted civil war which did not end abruptly in 1939 but continued as a police state until the death of Franco. There was no possibility of a divided country experiencing dire poverty and a famine to be attacking the Soviet Union and the British as well as the Americans. This would have been lunacy and I am surprised to hear in this video that Franco was gung-ho on getting into WWII. I am inspired to learn more about Franco and what was the cause of his lunacy.
