Spain was impoverished by a protracted civil war which did not end abruptly in 1939 but continued as a police state until the death of Franco. There was no possibility of a divided country experiencing dire poverty and a famine to be attacking the Soviet Union and the British as well as the Americans. This would have been lunacy and I am surprised to hear in this video that Franco was gung-ho on getting into WWII. I am inspired to learn more about Franco and what was the cause of his lunacy.
