  1. Some of us disagree with TIK who gives his opinion that Eisenhower "did the right thing" by not dismissing Patton for assaulting his own soldiers (38:35). TIK likes to trick us into thinking Eisenhower disregarded Patton solely as a matter of principle that public opinion (as well as medical opinion and other generals) should not dictate command decisions but this is neither here nor there. On the merits of the charge against Patton that he was a disgraceful antisemitic bully who pulled rank because he knew he could get away with it should have been all that Eisenhower cared about. Eisenhower should have understood that no one is indispensable, not even a vain, loudmouth, racist.
