  1. The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact never was forgotten but it had no effect on reality. The irony is that England and France had gone to war against Germany on behalf of Poland which they allowed the Soviets to occupy completely at war's end. They were in no position to do anything about Poland staying under Soviet influence as I am sure the Americans had a desire for peace as well as the new Labour government in London and De Gaulle in Paris. Churchill, the only war merchant of the lot, had been given the boot by the tired impoverished British people.
