  1. After WWII, traditional European enemies succeeded in putting war behind us and disputes were kept at a minimum, culminating in the creation of the European Union (EU). Since then, European youth see little to no difference between our countries and the prospect of going to war with each other which was too common in the 20th Century is no inexplicable. A setback is how very easy it was for the oldtimers, the middle-aged politicians, to involve the EU countries in the Russia-Ukraine trouble. Again, it is Germans who are sending their Panzers to kill Russians in the East. It is a disappointment.
