  7. The Europeans are watching with some fear at what to expect. I live in Spain and we are caught up in NATO but our government is at the mercy of American foreign policy. In the past we have not been involved in the U.S wars to the extent of the British and the Germans and French. We are keeping a distance, refusing armaments to Israel and the Kiev regime, sending only 6 F-18 Super Hornet fighter jets to Romania and a total of 150 personnel, including pilots and technical staff. This is supposed to police the eastern flank of NATO. This is the limit of our participation and maybe this is even too much but no doubt is considered a mere token by the war merchants in Britain, Germany, and France. The Germans are due for an election in February 2025, brought forward by an unpopular government which will be given the boot by the electorate there. Macron too is getting cold feet. Britain talks tough but has no military to speak of, being broke since Brexit but led by a committed Zionist who spy on Gaza, providing intelligence to Izz.Raili bomber jets and armed drones for daily attacks on Palestinian civilians. It is an utter mess.

  8. Ordinary people living in European countries (except Germany and Austria) can see what is happening but we can do nothing to stop it. NATO member countries will not oppose the USA but ordinary citizens feel useless to make a difference. It is depressing. From Granada, España.

I ask this because the biggest economy, Germany, is joined at the hip with the USA especially against the Russians and the Palestinians. The French are not much better. The British were never getting much oil or gas from Russia, relying instead on imports from Norway.

In Mearsheimer's Realist theory, China is the next country which will challenge America's "power dominance" for hegemonic control of southeast Asia. Mearsheimer says China must be "contained" by the United States (President Trump) in the same way that "we" contained the spread of Communism in Vietnam back in the 1960s. Listen to the guy. It last year's Report on various countries it began its criticism of the United States with the sentence, "Racism, anti-immigrant sentiments, and threats to democracy remained pressing human rights problems in the United States in 2023." (Human Rights Watch: United States Events) As a favor and a resident of Spain, could Ben Norton and all the American commentators give us a break and quit referencing The New York Times as though it is some kind of objective authority on current world affairs. Most people in our world do not live in New York nor do we even live in the United States. The New York Times is not for sale in my town but we can buy EL PAÍS which is a serious newspaper of record in Spain and it has a different perspective on the Occupied Territories but it is only one newspaper among many in The West which never get a mention by American pundits. It is shown here as BBVA Banco Francés S.A. In fact this bank changed its name to simply BBVA in March 2019 to reflect its parent company which is based in Bilbao, Vizcaya, Spain.
