Ben is mistaken by using the American newspaper The Los Angeles Times to claim that "Only Africans have been tried at the court for the worst crimes on Earth" 13:04 because quite a number of non-Africans went on the lam when indicted by the ICC and are currently fugitives, such as the Ossetian Hamlet Guchmazov for crimes against humanity, Mikhail Mayramovich Mindzaev a former Russian police official for war crimes against Georgian civilians, Ossetian David Georgievich Sanakoev for war crimes in violation of Article 49 of the Geneva Convention (forced deportation of civilians from the territory of an Occupying Power - ethnic cleansing of mostly children and the elderly causing deaths), Russian Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova for violation of Article 49, etc.

  2. Human Rights Watch does great work to call out violations of human rights throughout the world. It last year's Report on various countries it began its criticism of the United States with the sentence, "Racism, anti-immigrant sentiments, and threats to democracy remained pressing human rights problems in the United States in 2023." (Human Rights Watch: United States Events) As a favor and a resident of Spain, could Ben Norton and all the American commentators give us a break and quit referencing The New York Times as though it is some kind of objective authority on current world affairs. Most people in our world do not live in New York nor do we even live in the United States. The New York Times is not for sale in my town but we can buy EL PAÍS which is a serious newspaper of record in Spain and it has a different perspective on the Occupied Territories but it is only one newspaper among many in The West which never get a mention by American pundits.
