I am supposing Spain, where I live, should be on the lookout for some fallout by tripling its contribution to UNRWA after the European Union froze the EU's annual contribution until after the investigation of four employees.
Also, this week, according to a report in the Middle East Monitor (MEMO), at a meeting of the Council of Ministers it was announced that Spain will contribute to the International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor’s Office in the investigation of mass human rights violations in Gaza to hold those responsible to account before the court. As part of this commitment, the ICC Prosecutor’s Office Trust Fund will receive €500,000 in 2024, the report adds.
The International Court of Justice Prosecutor’s Office, headed by Prosecutor Karim Khan since June 2021, is one of the four organs of the ICC investigating genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.

Although Bismuth is impervious to the truth, it is a good thing that he agreed to be interviewed and was then bound to hear the justificated accusations of the failure of the Israelis to meet their stated goals in Gaza and the reality of genocide because the more times the Israelis hear the truth, over time it might sink in. Bear in mind that Israelis have many powerful allies beginning with the Americans and Germans but also several rich and influential European countries such as the British, the Italians, the French, the Hungarians and others who supply arms to the Israelis and provide them with intelligence, the use of military bases in Britain and British bases on Cyprus as well as diplomatic cover in the United Nations and whose media support Israeli actions. There are nevertheless even some European countries who support the Palestinian people such as the government of Spain where I live which recognizes the State of Palestine, refuses export licences to sell arms to Israel and refuses permission for Maersk ships laden with American armaments headed to Israel to dock at Spanish ports. Norway, Iceland, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Czechia, Cyprus, Slovakia, Albania, Serbia, Malta, Sweden, Montenegro, Slovenia, Norway, Ireland, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and the Vatican City all recognize the State of Palestine. What is important to note are those countries in Europe which are missing from this list. The tide of world opinion is turning against Israel but it is an uphill effort against the truly powerful countries who side with Israel.

@jotunthe11thhyman65 Yes, of course, but he should have exercised more caution with a stranger from the internet. Why did he act so irresponsibly, and make no mistake, he was irresponsible? Because, as the professional detective said, because he was British? That was a dumb excuse, especially coming from a career policeman. So what can explain letting a stranger sleep beside your sweetheart's bed? How bizarre! If I'm not mistaken, they had met on a website developed by Matthew. Matthew had been fixated by the internet since he had been a young boy. In a sense, the internet was his real world. He even developed an attraction for his girlfriend because she too was interested in the internet. In this sense he was the same as David. He probably felt responsible for David developing the same kind of feelings for Joanna who helped run the site run by the both of them. This was an unhealthy interest. Here is where Matthew's parents come in. Seeing your son becoming so interested in the internet should have set off an alarm with the parents. Parents should take responsibility for what their young sons and daughters get into. It is difficult to intervene in what a children do. Matthew had it bad. The internet is the real world and needs to be seen as a dangerous place, a place for misfits, gangsters, and operators of one sort or another. Currently, the British government's Minister of Defense is run by an individual who used a fake name on an internet website and made a living out of selling information to nieve customers on how to set up an internet business??? Can you believe it? Remember you read this here. Normal healthy good people, especially young children, need to be protected from the internet, to be warned if strangers want personal knowledge. Children need to be helped into ordinary everyday relationships, away from smartphones and computers. I feel sorry for Matthew. He was sucked into a fascination that was unhealthy. If only we could turn back the clock.

I could not tolerate listening to Dan Perry for even one minute. I might have guessed since he worked for a western pro-Israeli outfit which has been keeping the people in Europe and the English-speaking populations in ignorance. He claims that many Palestinian prisoners are "terrible terrorists and convicted murderers" (8:04) and he further accuses Hamas of being "Satanic, demonic, and diabolical" (9:13) without explaining that those prisoners who did have a trial did not face a judge and jury in any conventional sense but instead were pronounced guilty by an illegal Israel Defense Force occupation military court which has a conviction rate of over 99%! "As part of the military judicial system, Israeli military courts prosecute Palestinians of all ages and backgrounds based on Israeli military orders issued by the Israeli military commander in the West Bank. The breadth of these military orders effectively criminalizes all basic Palestinian individual and collective rights, including fundamental freedoms of expression and association. Under this racist military judicial system, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been tried and convicted in farcical court proceedings—at a conviction rate of over 99%—and subjected to brutal detention conditions, torture, prolonged incarceration, and gross violations of their rights and dignity." Eyes on Israeli Military Courts. (2022) Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association produced with the support of the government of Navarra, Spain. I disagree with Thomas Karat that "we can't forget the importance of hearing opposing views" (1:29) especially when they are false, prejudiced, and racist such as those of Dan Perry.

23:34 Yes, John, you are missing something. Freddy got you good by suggesting what all of us except you, John, already understand, namely, that the Israelis will go after Iran by using their American bombers for lightning assaults on military bases and airports as well as Iranian rocket launchers. Of course the Americans will support their Israeli partners and the strategic goal which John forgets what he told us literally minutes earlier that Iran will pay a high price of sanctions and isolation similar to Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, Afghanistan, etc. This is what the Israelis want so the Americans will want it too.

@slabo8226 Your old fabricated claim that Palestinians were ordered to leave their homes by Arab armies was long ago exposed as a bogus piece of propaganda. Jewish historians have since admitted that more than 700,000 Palestinian Arabs -- about half the prewar Mandatory Palestine's Arab population -- fled from their homes or were expelled by Zionist militias and, later, the Israeli army during the 1948 Palestine war, following the Partition Plan for Palestine. "Whenever the Israeli troops advanced into Arab country the Arab population was bulldozed out in front of them." (O'Ballance, Edgar (1957) The Arab-Israeli War of 1948. pp. 147, 172.) As for the claim that Palestinians were ordered out by Arab armies, supposedly by radio messages, when Erskine Childers asked to see the archives, the Israelis could not produce them. So he contacted the BBC and the CIA who had been closely monitoring radio broadcast intercepts from the region and you know these spies did not miss a word, he concluded that no orders or instructions were given by the Arab Higher Committee. (Childers, Erskine. (1961) Why the Refugees Left. The Spectator. )

Does Farrah think she persuaded even one person in the Belfast meeting by disrupting the event, I wonder. Sinn Féin has been supporting the Palestinian cause more than any other Irish party. Week after week in the Irish parliament Sinn Féin speakers have been asking the Irish government to do more for the people in Gaza. By her action of disruption at the meeting, Farrah wants to make herself an enemy of Sinn Féin. She will not find a party of politicians who are friendlier toward the Palestinians, including those in Gaza. She is critical of the recognized representative of the Palestinians in Ireland because the Palestinian ambassador is appointed by the Palestinian Authority but the role of the ambassador is to promote the links between all the Palestinian people and the people of Ireland, both North and South. It looks like Palestine recognizes Irish unity already. An argument can be made for attending the St. Patrick's Day visit to the White House and it is up to the Sinn Féin party what is best. Sinn Féin hope to be in government in the Republic as well as the Six Counties of the North and Ireland enjoys diplomatic relations with the USA. Visiting the White House is a way for the Irish people to get recognition every year by the sitting president. The Irish diaspora in the USA like to see the prime minister of Ireland deliver shamrock to the American president and to have a meeting of common interests. Ireland is not about to break diplomatic relations with the USA because of a difference with American policy by a particular administration. It is the Office of President as leader of the American Executive which counts. So, disrupting a meeting is supposed to help because Farrah does not like the decision of Sinn Féin to keep diplomatic relations with the USA? So every effort by Farrah to slur the Palestinian ambassador is used by shouting out that Dr Jilan Wahba Abdalmajid was appointed by the Palestinian Authority (PA), not Hamas. There would be no Palestinian Ambassador to Ireland if she were to wait being appointed by Hamas. Hamas does not appoint ambassadors. The State of Palestine does and it is a function of the Palestinian Authority to carry on the traditions of the PLO. Dr Jilan Wahba Abdalmajid is a Palestinian diplomat and has been one since 1995. Although appointed by the PA she represents all the Palestinian people and has presented her credentials to the President of Ireland. She is a very experienced, pleasant and caring mother of three children. In contrast, Farrah Koutteineh is a sullen, bitter, angry young girl who could use some manners.

Damo includes the EU along with the US and UK as an unbridled supporter of Israel. Damo, is like many English who never understood how the European Union works. The EU does not have a single united policy of supporting Israel. Several EU countries have recognized the state of Palestine already: Cyprus, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Sweden, Ireland, Spain, and Slovenia. Each EU country has its own sovereign foreign policy and ambassadors throughout the world. Several have been critical of Israel. Get it right, Damo.

There is no such thing as "the International Community" (2:54). This phrase is used by many Western countries' governments and media with reference to themselves, brazenly ignoring China, Russia, Iran, and other large countries often members of the BRICS alliance. Many non-Anglo-Saxon countries such as Belgium, Ireland, Norway, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, and Venezuela, etc. are quite critical of Israel.

You begin by saying that the French envy the Germans and, although the French believe they should be the leaders of Europe they must accept that Germany is "economically the power engine of the European Union". I beg to differ. Although Germany did have this leadership in its economy, the facts changed two years ago when they refused to buy cheap, reliable, and plentiful oil and natural gas from the Russian Federation. Without this source of fuel, symbolically demonstrated by the American destruction of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines in the Baltic Sea, Germany took a massive step back in industrialization. By joining the American proxy war against Russia, the German government has begun to impoverish their people. Now they must import much more expensive American fuel. Manufacturing in Germany has taken a hit for the past two years and cannot any longer export to the rest of the EU and the world at competitive prices. What possessed them, it must be wondered. There is no prospect for improvement of the German economy as long as the fighting in Ukraine continues. "Analysts said Europe’s largest economy was on track for another year of stagnant growth in 2024 at best, with a heightened risk of a second consecutive year of negative output." (The Guardian) By contrast, France is performing better over the past two years than Germany and is second only to Germany in the size of the economy. "The contrast between the French and German economies has rarely appeared so stark. While France continues to enjoy surprisingly strong growth and is increasingly attractive to both foreign and domestic investors, Germany is struggling – even if it is far from being the sick man of Europe – owing to a severe political crisis that has cast a shadow over its economic outlook and is weighing heavily on economic sentiment." (Project Syndicate) There is no better time for France to take political leadership in the EU than now and if President Macron can keep Germany pouring resources into the Ukrainian lost cause then France benefits. Germany is not the leader is was until the Russian special military operation in Eastern Ukraine. This explains Macron's bid to be the spokesman for Europe more than worried Chancellor Olaf Scholz who faces political gridlock and economic stagnation.

@commenterjoe9406 I am not an expert on international law or the laws of war. I also do not know whether my answer to you will remain uncensored but I can nevertheless try to answer you and I hope you get to see my reply. ... I believe the actions by Israel after Oct 7 is not protecting their Gaza Division or Israeli civilians on Oct 7. That was an historic event which had a beginning, a middle, and an end. We do not know all the details of that historic event as, for example, we do not know how many IDF tanks targeted homes in the kibbutzim, killing Israeli civilians, nor the number of targets among the vehicles with Israeli hostages on board attacked by IDF Apache helicopters resulting in Israeli civilian deaths. There was also a report of the Hannibal Directive being ordered by the IDF nor the number of Israeli victims of "friendly fire". An independent enquiry is needed. ... What happened since that date was, therefore, no longer actions by the IDF in protecting their citizens. This is not Israeli self defense but, as the Irish prime minister called "revenge" and the target is Palestinian civilians. You ask should the Israeli government stop protecting their citizens and the answer is No but let us hope they do a better job of making Israel the safest place for Jews in the world. This is doubtful. Also, as an occupying country, Israel has an obligation to protect the occupied Palestinian civilians in Gaza as well as the West Bank, according to international law.

I first heard Yanis Varoufakis when he was the Greek Economics Minister and he did not impress me because he was boasting on British television about being an Anglophile with friends particularly in the right-wing Conservative Party. I suppose this obsequious display was for English consumption. I am not English and I was unimpressed. Since the British fought the Third Reich, he should know he is in grave error to generalize about the Europeans whom he accuses of antisemitism. Not all Europeans wanted to murder Jews and he should know better. He is mistaken in his definition of Zionism as "exporting Jews from Europe to a land that didn't belong to the Europeans that the Europeans allocated to the Jews to go to" (5:16). This definition implies that the non-Jewish Europeans banished Jews from Europe. This was the First Solution to the Jewish Question of the Nazis but not of other Europeans and not even by all Germans. Zionism in contrast was a 19th Century movement by some European Jews, not all, to establish a Jewish state in Palestine by displacing the indigenous Arabs and taking their land by force of arms, knowing that the Palestinians would not give up their land without putting up a fight. It was a Jewish plan not a Gentile one. The Jews in question happened to be indigenous Europeans. Initially, the British helped them but changed their minds when they preferred to build relations with Arabs in the region during and immediately after the Second World War. Secondly, he is also mistaken in his claim that the European Union (EU) is arming the Israelis (6:51). While some member EU states are supplying armaments to Israel (notably Germany, Britain, France, Italy, and The Netherlands) the EU is not doing so as an organization and other member states such as Norway and Belgium have stopped giving export licences for armaments to the rogue state.

5:23 A false impression of Allen Dulles as a man who cared about Jews being mistreated in Nazi Germany is given by the narrator. So, he helped "some" German Jews "like banker Paul Kemper" get immigration papers to the United States before WWII. Not all Jews were wealthy bankers or businessmen who would fit in well in his New York circles. You can be sure that his advice to his New York law firm to discontinue doing business in the Third Reich was because it would be beneficial and not because he cared about German Jews after the Nürnberg Laws of 1935. The narration is quite false in claiming that Dulles relayed information about the Final Solution death camps to "Washington". In fact, Dulles showed no concern when he was informed, not by a Catholic priest, but by German businessmen and even escapees from Auschwitz-Birkenau regarding the mass extermination of Jewish families in the notorious death camp. He sat on this information and even censored reports from German informants, making sure information about the gassings was removed. Before he en got to Bern, when Allen Dulles was still at the OSS office in New York he received a report from German mining executive Eduard Schulte detailing what was happening at Auschwitz-Birkenau but it did not get to the president. When this first report got to newspapers the State Department called the Schulte report "wild rumor inspired by Jewish fear"(Talbot, David. The Devil's Chessboard). By Thanksgiving 1942, the Schulte report was leaked by Rabbi Stephen Wise of the World Jewish Congress to the press. The Washington Post carried the story on page 6 and The New York Times printed a short account on page 10. Dulles remained unconcerned. Schulte met with Dulles when he got to Bern in 1943 but he could not interest Dulles in the plight of Jews in death camps. On another occasion, Fritz Kolbe who was a civil servant in the Third Reich also met with Dulles in 1944 with urgent information about the Jews in Hungary who had escaped transportation to death camps so far in the war but Kolbe knew they were in danger. The Jews wanted the rail lines to the camps and even the camps themselves to be bombed. Dulles changed the subject to discuss the growing Communist menace in Europe as the war was nearing its final months. This was a more important topic to Dulles and although the Jews of Budapest were rounded up to be sent to Auschwitz-Birkenau and Dulles continued to get Nazi documentation about this, all he ever mentioned in communiqués was that Hungarian Jews were being conscripted for work in Poland although he knew what was going on. All this was kept secret and this video is telling a different story.

@r_b_ca I do not know what to believe and this is because the TV report is messy, inconclusive, and in need of very much more evidence. Lazy reporting is accepted by English viewers as completely trustworthy, professional, and even (no joke) the best in the world. I would never accept allegations which cannot be backed up by unassailable evidence. Just on the face pf it, it is not credible that English men who like enjoying and exploiting boys would bother organizing trips from one end of England where London is, through the Midlands, carrying farther north like a mail train to Liverpool, farther again to Manchester leaving England, crossing the Irish Sea to Northern Ireland, to pick up one or two boys in Belfast when scores of their favorite boys can be acquired extremely easily from homes in seaside towns from Weymouth, Dorset, or Southampton, Hampshire, or Brighton, or Hastings, East Sussex. Then in Kent there are Dover and Ramsgate. I could go on and on. Can you imagine giving up on getting boys from around the corner to go into a Northern Ireland war zone in another nation to get a boy? It sounds wonky.

@danutahanyga4834 Nation states are relatively new on our planet. Most were not "forged", as you say, but were decided by what came before nation states, namely, empires which drew up countries' borders regardless of the different nations or ethnicities. The process is still happening as I type and resolving border disputes is causing wars and dissention all over our planet. You guessed incorrectly where I am from. I am in Spain which is not a nation state. Here we have broadly four nations in one country: Spanish, Catalan, Bascos, and Galicians. Each has its own history and unique language. This contradicts what you define as a nation state forging its own identity. The same can be said of many states or countries which have different nationalities. Belgium has two nations: the Flamisch (Dutch speakers) and the Walloon (French speakers). Switzerland has four distinct nations: French, Italian, German, and Roma. I could go on. As for Ukraine, there are several nations there: Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, Hungarians, Romanians, and Lithuanians. France is considered the first nation state which began about 1800. So, you see it is a new idea or fact. In Africa it is all mixed up as the imperial powers drew borders that went through tribal territories. You see, it is not as simple as you think.
