The WBA has five heavyweight champions.
159
That ending is awesome, "You didn't see the best Usyk. I CAN BE MUCH BETTER"".
122
Gonna get enough of importing random fighters from Mexico as opponents.
82
Think Coe overlooked Gallegos after the Pacheco fight.
56
If you like Nistor you better enjoy him while he's around. He will not last very long blocking punches with his face like that.
49
Yep! Gotta be really careful with a guy like that. When it becomes apparent your guy isn't winning, get him out of there because Matias has, literally, lethal power and it didn't need to go as far as it did.
48
Does AJ come forward and try to impose his size and athleticism in the next fight? If he does, I think he runs the risk of being picked apart by a fighter who is familiar with him and is not overwhelmed by his power and size and presumes to be even more comfortable next time.
37
I think he ends up fighting Murata in Japan on December 28th. It'll be a year out for GGG and 2 years for Murata.
35
Curiel - Nontshinga, for me, is the upset of the year in the sport. There was no reason in the world to think he'd win that fight and not only does he win, but he does it like that. Looking forward to the rematch and I'm thinking Curiel can do it again.
30
Knockout of the year contender right there.
29
@Alienkush97 Think those body shots really took it out of him.
28
Have to make a space on this list for Navarrete.
27
You better be on your game if you fight Kiko Martinez. Yet another poor soul has underestimated him and been punished for it!
24
One of the best small fighters ever. First ballot Hall Of Famer when he's done.
23
I'm a fan of Adams', so I acknowledge my biases, but that decision made me sick.
23
I don't think Cissokho is going to be champion, but he is definitely going to be fun to watch.
22
That's awesome! Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Savage!
21
Fujioka is 45 years old and she fought the second half of the fight like that. I thought she clearly won this fight.
21
Smoger has a legitimate claim to being THE greatest referee of all time. No coincidence at all that he was the third man in the ring for SO many great fights. Rest easy SS!
20
I kind of think GGG and Charlo should fight each other. I guess GGG is headed to the Murata fight and I don't know what Charlo will end up doing next, but he struggled on the scale in his last fight, maybe go up for the Benavidez fight.
19
Now he left Top Rank saying that he wanted to fight better opponents and be put in big fights... and he ends up fighting Jason Quigley? Okie dokie.
17
@MrCabra23 Yeah. Maybe the Dominican Republic of Colombia now.
15
Eggington is always so fun to watch. He has heart for days and always gives it his best effort. But he's limited and Liam Smith is just better than he is.
14
I want Lara - Navarrete or Lara - Venado. Anything he is in fighting like this is going to be very exciting.
12
I love Chavez but, yeah, Canelo has him beat. World champion from 154 to 175, undisputed at 168 and maybe even cruiserweight. And, yes, he's just a better fighter.
11
@FranFerioli Yeah! Great point. You know he's scared as can be of something like that happening again.
10
Got two small lightweights as junior middleweight champions. WTH!
10
Bell is a tall and skillful 130lb fighter, in his prime who will be #1 for the winner of Navarrete - Valdez tonight. SOMEONE is going to have to deal with him pretty soon and he will not be an easy W for anyone in that division imo.
9
Jake has options now. He can fight Fury, Nick Diaz or even Junior. Loma fights Haney unless he leaves the division - in which case, he fights Shakur.
9
I love Katie but she's a lightweight who will be 36 years old this year. Shields is in her physical prime and 20lbs bigger. That's just an unfair comparison.
7
I don't think he's ready to fight the best super middleweights in the world, but I think he he's definitely ready for a step up. I'd want to see him against guys like Bek and Zach Parker. Those guys, I think he's definitely ready for and I'd love to see him there in his next fight.
6
@danielwilliams5528 EXACTLY! We can all sit up here and debate minor champs or real champs, but they all have WBA world championships, which is gross.
6
I thought Harper won but it was close and a draw is certainly fair. Most of the competition (JONAS) has left that division and I expect Harper to follow to 147 and if she does, I think old Braekhus might just be the best at 154 if she's interested in sticking around. Make another title run and head off into the HOF.
6
I honestly don't think this fight is very close. I think Ward wins a wide decision.
5
@thebestnever2127 Yes, unfortunately I have. If we're talking about MY chin and heart/courage, I have very little of either. But that doesn't have anything to do with anything. We're not comparing him to ME, that's a worthless comparison.
5
I remember thinking Callum Smith had a legit chance against Canelo and then he came out... and did that. I don't trust him anymore, but I'm thinking Beterbiev probably fights him next.
4
I'm wondering if they keep calling Kiko for fights like these if he'll mess around and win one of them before he retires..... probably not.
4
@cxluisz7464 I agree, they can't have everyone up there, but Cuadras got knocked out in his last fight and Vargas literally has not had a single fight in nearly two years.
4
I've heard that said about him before, I don't know if it was a matter of his chin, but at the same time I wouldn't say he had a chin like Tua, Wilson or McCall, someone like that - I just don't think Tyson dealt very well with adversity in the ring.
4
I think it'd be cool if he went down in weight and fought, at least for awhile, against people consistently his own size. I'm thinking Rodriguez is about to have an amazing career now though, he looked fantastic.
4
Let Charlo and Benavidez fight. I don't know why they haven't already. It's like they're both sitting around waiting on Canelo.
4
Andrade seems destined to spend the rest of his title reign fighting random voluntaries like Quigley and mandatories. He's almost 34 so he's running out of time on his prime.
3
@stoshbeast1 Ryoto Murata, he has a belt at middleweight. Supposedly they've already agreed to fight in December.
3
I don't know if Courtenay wants to fight her again, but Shannon O'Connell would fight her. O'Connell's also Courtnay's #1 contender, so I see all three of them probably fighting one another.
3
Munguia looked bad against Derevyanchenko, now everyone wants to fight him. I think Benavidez beats Munguia, but I'd take Munguia over Berlanga.
3
@Andrew-lo6jk If Usyk wins Joshua's in the same position he's in now, but it's better because he's then fighting for all the belts.
3
Nery - Crazy A is the best fight I saw this year. Nery winning it probably gets him a shot at undisputed next year.
3
I'd take Wilder, but it would definitely be a matter of whoever lands first wins.
3
He was absolutely atrocious. I hope he's watching these highlights this morning and feels awful!
3
@thebestnever2127 I have. I don't think he had a bad chin. Again, I just don't think he dealt with adversity too well. You can point to the Ruddock fight and I could point to the Holyfield and Douglas fights as this steady decline, as they got stronger, he became more and more passive and then, obviously, the second Holyfield fight where he saw the writing on the wall and said, I'm getting tf out of here. I definitely don't think he was tissue paper, but not quite "iron" either.
