  2. Push button and dial Four wheel DRIVE should be BANNED! My '05 Lincoln Mark LT had push button four wheel drive with a little light to indicate what setup you were currently using. Well long story longer, my little indicator light had not indicated the fact that I was in FOUR HIGH I didn't put it in four high but that was what it was on, anyway since I didn't know four wheel drive was engaged I proceeded to get on the highway I don't remember what speed I had gotten up to but BOOOOOM, it sounded like and felt like a bomb had gone off! Right when that happened I looked in my rearview mirror and saw a fine mist of fluid spraying all over the car behind me which was tailgating me, ha, anyway I pulled over and found my front drive shaft gone and a huge hole in the transfer case! So because of the failure of the indicator light that should have told me I was in FOUR WHEEL DRIVE, I have been calling for push button and dial actuated four wheel drive to be banned. Actually going out and locking your hubs is the best way to do it, yes, it'll kind of suck having to get out and lock those hubs in the mud but compared to exploding everything it's a very small inconvenience!!
