@schiffelers3944 Social generations are defined by shared values. Gen X was the last generation, Millennials are the current generation, from Gen X to present. However, we are possibly seeing the emergence of a new generation, after 30 years. That remains to be seen.

Except the reality is that is always the case. Every year, you run the same risk of of an acquaintance dying of a seasonal illness. While everyone keeps saying its not like flu, every recalculation of the statistics, brings it significantly closer. We went from 50% mortality, to 30%, to ~3%, now with a solid 1% projection and widely hypothesized 0.08 -0.5% final projection. As the sample size increases, we are seeing a precipitous drop in criticality rate. It has gone from if you see a sick person on tv, you're already dead, to 80% will never require medical attention, over just a couple weeks. I surely dont want to get it, but Im far more concerned about the idiots shouting Hannibal ad Portas!!!

The point is that you should always be doing these simple things during sick season. If people had, this never would've turned into such a shitshow.

The difference is that unlike 9/11, in a couple months, everyone is going to have to face what abject idiots they were. The hysteria has been orders of magnitude more destructive than the virus, which, mark my words, will turn out on-par with seasonal flu. Sample bias and statistical weighting - the numbers we are seeing, are analogous to drug testing at a teen party and applying the results to the population at large.
