Getting your aminos balanced and optimized, will make just about the single largest difference and at the lowest cost. Especially today, when everyone's diet is so atrociously poor. Some aminos, however are practically non-limiting. That is, you can just keep taking more, well beyond dietary requirements and still get net positive results; glutamine and creatine for example. Tyrosine and serine supplements are effective 'brain boosters' because, by various mechanisms, they relieve cognitive fatigue; there's no 'pep', you just realize after a couple weeks that you're completing more tasks, more easily. Understanding why you're taking a supplement and most importantly, expectation management, are the core components of a healthy supplement stack. Most people take stuff, not because they feel a specific need for it, but because someone told them they should.
