Partially correct. Earlier generations, particularly WWII, had clearer moral imperatives for fighting and fought worthy, relatively civilized adversaries; note, Pacific theatre vets had a much harder time coping afterward, than ETO vets, due to the wanton inhumanity they were exposed to. As well, younger generations have no relationship with death, because they have no relationship with other people. They think meat comes from the same place as mac & cheese and most of the 'War on Terror' generation, has never even seen their mom cut up a chicken, let alone hunted or slaughtered their pet cow, for dinner.
