  1. Not even close. You are among the 'still fighting the last war' crowd. The obvious strategy would be a massive cruise missile strike, crippling Iran's air defenses and some infrastructure; followed by withdrawal, leaving them vulnerable to local adversaries. They will be far too busy trying to get their defenses back in operation, to project any power beyond their physical borders. Add to that the clear message that the US doesnt need to commit a single warm body, or come within 1000 miles of their borders, to devastate them.
