  1. The problem is most people are used to the bonus they get from Big Daddy Gvt, every year and this year they didnt get it... so they didn't just get lied to, they got conned. This is classic institutionalization, where people dont understand what theyre doing(paying taxes), they just do it and count on the routine(tax return) to run their life. People have that 'bonus' check spent 11 months before they get it. They live check to check, off credit cards and dont pay attention to their spending, so they wouldn't even notice if you gave them money, unless you slapped them in the face with it.
