  1. You CANNOT seek asylum, by illegal entry. That is literally the opposite of asylum. Asylum is requesting the GOVERNMENT's protection, from the authorities or and conditions where you came from. If you cross illegally, you are NOT an 'asylum seeker', by any measure or any definition. The point is STOP calling these people 'asylum seekers', because at best, its wrong, but in most cases, its a wanton lie.
