  1. Most of these things are luxury goods, or already low impact items. For example, no one is going to be hurting to pay 25ยข more for a head of lettuce. The Canadian dairy imports have been devastating US dairy producers, who have to destroy a massive percentage of their own produce, because they're capped at how much they can sell at any price. Prices may go up some briefly, to capitalize production increase, but they're quite capable of meeting US supply at competitive price. The electronics from China are a big deal and lots of people are going to feel that one. But, addictions are always hard to break. It took generations to get into this position with China and the bandaid has fused to the skin. Its gonna hurt, but it has to come off.
