  7.  @90klh  Its because of where people are 'smoking a cigarette'. Urbanization and high Human traffic in remote areas are to blame for 99% of California's and Australia's environmental problems. California, for example, has dammed, diverted and pumped so much of the natural water resources, that they have import water from other states; and have been urbanizing and developing previously unpopulated areas that had been maintaining by controlled burning. But hey, movie stars and wealthy tech elites, deserve a mountainside palace, overlooking the dirty poors, like gods on Olympus.

  9.  @90klh  You're flooding because metropolites are bulldozing all the forests and paving them with concrete and glass and using it as backfill to up-build wetlands for housing development. All of which use massive retention ponds to collect runoff that normally would flood the low areas and reabsorb into the environment. Instead, they all fill up and get dumped upstream, into the rivers, like pulling a zipper. Then everything downstream floods. So, instead of that nusance seasonal street flooding, you get yearly 'historic' flooding. But, right on cue, the climate cultists blame everything but the glaring, undeniable wanton devastation of the environment, for shopping malls and McMansions, because that's literally right at their own doorstep. 'Carbon emmisions' wouldn't be any problem the planet couldn't handle, if you werent devouring the natural scrubbers and decimating the natural regulators, at geometrically increasing rates. Meanwhile, they disparage and slander and spew abject contempt for rural 'trailer trash', who dont even mow their lawns.
