@djabroni_brochacho4644 Its entirely possible and definitely plausible, if not probable, that they dont even have a nuclear program, either. Intelligence assessments are always a degree of confidence, never a 'fact'. There is an alternative assessment, based upon the same intelligence, that NK nuclear program, is a Chinese shadow puppet. Its believed that the weapons NK has tested, were Chinese fission primaries, for their thermonuclear program. All we actually know, is that NK has apparently exploded several low to medium yield fission devices; well within the range of a fission primary. No one has seen their program, even though it would be strategically advantageous for NK to allow some verification that it even exists.

@WarAuthority Educating yourself, is undoubtedly a major component of your problem. A) American forces did not 'have their asses handed to them'; please, list the battles where American forces were driven back into the sea, or failed to take an objective? B) this is not 1945 and NK is not Imperial Japan... though NK is still using a LOT of equipment designed in the 50s.

'Superpower', 'One of the mightiest armies in the world' 🧐 Um, no. Number of uniforms does not equate 'might'. The Norks' military is on par with the Iraqi military we decimated in 48hrs, in 1991. The terrain is much more troublesome, as is China's involvement. But the Nork military is new production, Soviet design and to put it frankly, ISIS is almost certainly better trained and supplied.

@urielsalas9265 NK is barely a threat to itself. Its only power projection is 48hrs of abject terror against SK civilians, before all of their artillery is located and junked. They can barely feed a peacetime military, much less supply a war. When they do step over the line and China doesn't answer the phone, it will take about a month of containment, to devastate them. That's providing they don't get silly enough to actually attempt a missile launch, get it shot down in boost and the entire might of US airpower unleashed upon them; destroying everything in sight and then bouncing the rubble 4 or 5 times, as an object lesson for the rest of the world. Not to mention that if they did attempt a nuclear attack, its more likely that China and Russia would simply eliminate them, on their own.

@williambledsoe5645 Completely different adversary and objective. NK is exactly the sort of threat NATO is built to address. NK is a smorgasbord of industrial and military targets. A NATO air campaign against it, would be as devastating as a nuclear strike. An air campaign to neutralize significant force projection and then containment. A ground offensive would be better served after a few months of privation.
