Its not 'community', but that we simply dont teach value for life. Kids have always blown a gasket and raged out. The difference is that in a society that doesnt place an intrinsic value on life, the bar is much higher for creating outrage and monopolizing the community's attention. The way my generation acted out, was to steal a car and vandalize the school in the middle of the night. Because, that was the bar for antisocial outburst that would shock and appall and have everyone saying his name. There's so much competition for negative attention now, that you have to massacre children and mutilate their bodies, just to make the news.
