Main problem with stealth, is no one knows if it works. No stealth plane has incurred into non-permissive airspace. Every known stealth mission, has followed conventional SEAD and flown under fighter escort. Every 'stealth' mission, has been available to conventional aircraft. Therefore, even though such enormous resources have been put into it, performance compromised for it and has dictated air doctrine for decades, it remains entirely untested. Furthermore, it has a miserable operational record, comparative to conventional aircraft. Its also noteworthy that while the US attempts to make planes invisible, at the cost of performance, Russia is designing high performance aircraft and making them 'slipery'; such that they're detectable, but stealthy aspects, combined with speed and agility, makes them very difficult to engage.

@lucash8371 That was bad tactics. An actual invisible plane would've been hit. The planes were flying the same route, practically on schedule, through a narrow corridor. When their lookouts heard the plane coming, they just setup and timed a shot into the corridor and fired several missiles on proximity fuses. One of the blind fired missiles got close enough. Its a technique called 'trapping'; they knew it would come along a certain path and then just peppered it.

@Poctyk The metric is not current standard, but change. Russians are living better, while Western lifestyle, is in decline and completely dependent upon China.
