  2. Im not much of an engineer, but my figures for the G loading are a lot closer to 500,000, than 5000. A typical rifle bullet reaches 50,000+ G and that is pretty close to the form factor of this gun, which is to be accelerating a 20kg+ pkg to nearly 10,000m/s. Even a rocket assisted projectile is going to need a serious kick. 5000G seems like fantasy for a ballistic orbital launch. I think you'd need closer to 100m+ bbl length to soften the G loading enough for any practicality. That said, this could definitely work on the Moon, with a much shallower well and practically no atmosphere. Maybe a km long gun to launch packages around the solar system, like supply drops to Mars.
