Lookup Air Force Cognitive Engine(ACE), its sister program DARPA Air Combat Evolution (ACE), Lockheed Cormorant(MPUAV) and Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI). The challenge to LASER weapons is beam divergence and aiming. AI piloted drones solve most of those problems, by strapping a mirror on them.
