  1. No, they're trying desperately to not throw him under the bus. No one has given up anything actionable against him; nothing he cant shake off with a simple denial, because the moment Comey is threatened with any real liability, he'll take down everyone with him. Everyone in the game knows they'll eventually take one for the team. Hes already lost his job and had his reputation damaged, so more reputational damage is irrelevant and thats all anyone is doing.
