Their goal is to connect Crimea, DPR and LPR and establish a DMZ. The secondary objective is to 'disarm and depose' the Ukrainian gvt, like we did with Saddam. Everyone hyperventilating about Russia absorbing Ukraine, is just deep throating the propaganda hose and not thinking. If Putin wants NATO away from Russia's borders, why would he expand to NATO borders? He wants to neutralize Ukraine and create a buffer.

@tioswift3676 DPR and LPR are not Ukraine and Crimea was annexed in 2014. DPR and LPR were recognized as independent, consistent with international norms, ie they had no effective government by their parent nation, for nearly a decade. Biden defacto recognized their independence and right to align with Russia, when he imposed sanctions upon them. That is not absorbing Ukraine.
