  11.  @mbmb8397  Your tacit assertion is that licensed carry significantly increases probability of 'accidents'. First, there are no accidents. An accident is a confluence of events, outside the operator's control; you are talking about negligence. Second, licensed civilian carriers are statistically less likely to have 'accidents', than LE and dedicated security personnel - a student is several times more likely to be unjustly shot by a responding LEO or security guard, than by a licensed civilian. There are a number of reasons for this, that Ill not get into, unless you are really that interested.

Whenever someone invokes 'NRA' in an argument, you can literally substitute 'millions of voters and Citizens', in its place - try that and see how it sounds? The NRA has no intrinsic power; it is the collective voice of its dues paying constituency. This is why people take NRA Boogeyman rhetoric personally; because what say about the NRA, you are actually saying about them, the Citizen and voter.
