  1. Glenn G They already are thinking for themselves... or 'breaking the chains', as the idiom goes. Previously isolated and segregated communities have become connected to other similar communities and the Democrats have not adapted. Democrat strategy, for several decades now, has been 'You have to be with me, because no one else wants you' which anyone should recognize as a textbook example of an abusive relationship. The Information Age has challenged that paradigm, but Democrats are still operating on a strategy that relies upon their being the only source of information for their base. The result is an ultraradical Leftwing that simply plays the 3 monkeys to the DNC. So, their base gets smaller and more extreme and depends upon importing new voters to offset the exodus of their base, to the center void of independence, where they vote for principles and policies, not for a (D). This leaves the Democratic Party still slightly in the lead for numbers of ideological supporters, but in deficit with motivated voters. They like to rant about Trump's losing the popular vote, but thats irrelevant, because it wasnt a popular election; while there were hundreds of popular elections held the same day and Democrats resoundingly got blown out.
