  1. Bakhmut is already taken and Chechens have already started relieving Wagner positions. But, no doubt as long as there's still a Ukrainian drawing breath somewhere in the rubble, you can claim they're holding strong. The remaining Ukrainian forces are trapped in a few city blocks of destroyed structures and as soon as that's cleared and those positions taken up by Russia, its just miles of open ground ahead, with nowhere to hide. Its an inevitability. Ukraine stayed way too long and now they can't break contact, without getting run down and shot in the back.
