@cjstats1514 You cant just make high performance weapon and defense systems on demand, guy. But, lets set that aside for a moment. You do realize that GPS, ATMs, cell phones and the Internet are military technology, right? Thats just a couple high visibility examples of the life you take for granted, being inextricably bound with defense tech. Medicine and surgical technology are pushed to the edge of the envelope, by warfare. Most of the trauma care techniques that save countless lives on a daily basis, came straight out of field hospitals. Prosthetics. Low light cameras. Food preservation. Footwear. Microwaves. Superglue.

@alansmith4655 A LOT of that 'waste' and 'lost money' goes to secret projects that you may never know about directly, but will fundamentally affect your quality of life. Oh and blows your fuken mind, when our planetary defense system disintegrates the 100km asteroid that the Uranians throw at us.
