Because he really did see shit he wasnt supposed to and then they pumped him full of bullshit to mitigate the security leak. What he saw, was undoubtedly the myriad of stealth aircraft being tested at Groom Lake, in the late 80s. Thats why a lot of it has the ring of truth, thudded out with crap.

@IT-zm5eb I think you misunderstood... There are no alien spaceships, he saw the stealth aircraft they were testing there, in the late 80s. Everything fits. He couldn't keep his mouth shut, so the fed him a bunch of crazy disinfo and cut him loose.

eddiewinehosen Funny you mention religion and miracles, because the answer to your rhetorical question, is misunderstanding. As in, Lazar saw shit he didn't understand and made up a story to make sense of it. We now know that most of the UFO mythology around Area51 is accounted for, by stealth programs. But, Lazar has institutionalized himself to his story, to the degree of a belief system(like religion) and cannot accept the reality that he saw cutting edge stealth aircraft; aircraft that were shocking when revealed and despite being now commonplace, still look crazy impossible.
