@allan500m Completely FALSE. Actually look at a topographical map, instead of listening to propaganda. The flood zone is to the south where all the Russian artillery and rear support for Kherson is. No one but Ukraine benefits and they have to, for any chance at assaulting the city, because Russia has already gotten the civilians out of they way so they can flatten it when Ukraine tries to advance.

Russia has been conducting bounding(fighting) withdrawals throughout the entire war, inflicting devastating casualties on Ukraine, while taking very few themselves. Their entire doctrine is based on 'no contact', so its not like they don't know how to do it. Ukraine knows theyve stepped into a beartrap with Kherson, but have overcommitted with all their rhetoric about taking it back. Note how they're desperately trying to spin the evacuation of civilians as anything but the obvious - Russia wants to deny Ukraine Human shields to advance behind, so they can back off and flatten the city when Ukraine tries to occupy it. The Russian side of the river is the flood zone, which is why Ukraine is going to attack the dam, in an attempt to deny Russia their artillery and rocket batteries that are covering the area.
