  3. Defensive assistance, vs unambiguously offensive support. Germany's prior assistance can be argued as only helping to hold Russia from advancing. Purely offensive assistance, is to contribute materially to Ukrainian advance into territory held prior to the invasion. There us no moral and certainly no legal justification for such. Repelling an invasion is materially different from 'reclaiming' losses from a previous conflict. Imagine Russia, China, Itan, Brazil, Argentina, etc, decided to support Mexico in reclaiming Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. That's what is happening, here.
