  1. A well maintained M1 is reliable and effective. Its Korean War reputation is based upon misuse - guys taking 400 yard shots at heavily clothed soldiers and mag dumping the M2 at charging maniacs. The M1C will fire out of battery, which is a bad attribute, for a gun with a propensity for spring failure.
