Tried to explain so many times over the decades to friends what a, "recoilless rifle is. And how it operates. Most civvies can't get past the fact it isn't a," rifle", in the true sense of the word. Then when I explain it's recoilless because of the gas ports at the rear. They ask. "Then how can it fire the shell". Gratitude for ur post sir. It has saved me a lot of explaining. PS: Gratitude for all ur posts. As an ex British army pioneer. I learn a lot. The minute u think u know everything. U stop learning.

As a mechanical engineer, I just love the whole idea of the design. Outstanding from an engineering viewpoint!

Loving this channel. Being Scottish, owning or possessing firearms it a legal nightmare. Being a mechanical engineer. The technical aspects in these vids fascinate me. Also, being posted with NATO, pre & post communist era. I have a working knowledge of certain period weapons, going back to WW2. Though it's the engineering side that fascinates. These posts are perfect. Gratitude. 👍 🏴

This was the very first military weapon i trained on in the army cadets. Once my bruised shoulder healed. I absolutely loved it. It's power & simplicity where awesome.

@defender1006 Proud of him! My Grandfather died of wounds sustained at Dunkirk. He was a Bren operator also.

@julian5857 Agreed. Even the logistical support equipment is breathtaking.

Same. Was a cadet in the early 80s. And used both. I had to hump around 22 lbs plus of Bren for a 5 day exercise. Worth it to get to use a great piece of history such as this was. When i trained on it. Our NCO, told us to dig our toe's in to counter the forward pull of the weapon.

@2lefThumbs 👌😀. I'm pretending i got it. So i don't appear stupid. (what joke, when did he tell it)? 🤫 Edit... Now i may get caught up in the, joke, no joke banter. Seriously though. Was there a joke? 😂

@H_412 I'm sure if the tea got deployed into an area where the campaign unexpectedly dragged into winter. There would be a winter clothing drive. For all the frontline tea leafs. 🍵❄️😂 Edit: Then again, they could use there alpine winter troops. The ice teas. 😂🤣😁❄️

@2lefThumbs U did enough bud. It was well received. 👍

Prototypes. Which, in general come out a year or so earlier.

Any help plz. When inserting a round. Do the gas ports around the cartridge primer need to be manually aligned with venting ports of the weapon? Or does closing the breach do this, "automatically"? Or is alignment not required? 🤔

"White Phosphorus, used to create smoke"??? It would create smoke, true, but it is also a weapon which burns so horrifically it was banned by the Geneva convention since WW2. I won't say for certain but using it as cover. Was, "(cover)" for getting round the weapons embargo. If I'm in error I'd welcome any replies that would help clarify the situation for me. Thanks.

The only input politicians should have regards weaponry is to supply the cash. Leave well alone. You aren't the one's relying on this gear to save your life's.

Ur even wearing the, Kepi. Never used this weapon but I've heard the built in bipod can leave u conspicuously silhouetted when firing from the prone position because of it's height?

@2lefThumbs I, of course, knew that. 🤫🤔🤞

Glad u did this one. I was surprised to hear it was, FN, who produced this. Though in retrospect I shouldn't be. As they are a prolific weapon manufacturer. Gratitude for this post.

Spine hubs do look cool. Astounding what a piece of string will do to make a book more tactile. 👍
