  1. Yes, most people imagine the device starts recording when they say the "wake up word" - and not until then. It never occurs to them that the device needs to hear and recognize this "WakeUp word." I have a blind friend who uses these services for a reason - but he isolates the "voice services" away from where he talks on the phone and to other people in person.

It doesn't just "turn on" when you say the wake up word...It is listening to everything you say so it catches the Wake Up word...
