i agree with u Ana!! i think disagreements and fights r two differently completely things. but i think a disagreement can escalate to a fight and cause the relationship to plumish, or in severe cases end. ive never been in a relationship (romantic one at least) but in terms of friendships, i would identify a fight to be when it reaches the point of ppl disrespecting each other. i think the moment someone starts to take their anger out on u instead of communicating what the issue is at hand is when a fight begins. i have a close friend i disagree with on many things but we always have open conversations!! we respectfully disagree (as you quoted) and we come to terms with the fact that we won’t always share the same opinions or outlook on everything but that doesn’t mean we can’t open our minds or hear the other person out. for fights, ive had past fights w my former friends in hs and i think a lot of our fights began when one person became petty and began holding resentment against the other person in fear of how it would affect the relationship or other person. lol those friendships didn’t last long for obvious reasons but i can definitely say ive learned a lot from those fights. ever since i started university, i learned to communicate instead of repressing my anger/negative emotions so things don’t ever escalate to a fight.
