ย @isaacwestย And, of those 20, at least one that was on parade one year, broke down in the middle of the road. (don't remember if it was the rehearsal, or day-of)
Then the T-14 that hooked up to tow it, just squatted when the throttle was mashed down, making matters look all the worse.
Mind you, I don't think it was due to lacking enough torque, but likely because the broken down T-14 couldn't be taken out of gear. So I'm sure it would've gotten no where it it hooked up to a giant concrete block that had a high friction rubber coating... stove that's effectively what it was trying to tow anyways! lol
But yea, I agree with OP... They're no doubt trying to sell the thing to other countries, so unlike any other manufacturer who has confidence in what they've created, Russia knows there's a HIGH chance that it'd only end up destroyed, and they can't afford that - on multiple levels. Like, if I were China and saw what's happening, THEN watched Russia's Creme de la Creme instantly get its shit pushed in... It's instantly forget about Taiwan, and take over Russia instead! lmao

I just said the same. We let Puddin get away with so much, that he feels invincible, like he can do WHATEVER the hell he wants and suffer no consequences... because, unfortunately, that's been the truth these last 2 decades.
I'm glad we've done something this time, but none of our leaders are willing to do ENOUGH, yet...
Actually, I take that back: France, Canada, and Estonia ARE starting to do the right thing.
We can't keep ignoring it, not when doing so results in 1/4 of a country being reduced to LITERAL rubble! We should've stepped in LAST year... ๐

If you read the Budapest Memorandum, sadly no, we did not. TECHNICALLY we only promised to SPEAK TO THE UN of any threats came against Ukraine.... ๐However, it's my belief that WE SHOULD BE protecting them, beyond sending aid. Russia signed that are well and I feel that the only reason the US and UK signed it was an an assurance that RUZ wouldn't beach the agreement...
If a school bully said "Fine, I'll stop, but you have to give up your stick" and then two older kids said "Yea, give up the stick, and if something happens we'll speak on your behalf!"... well, that's not very reassuring, because at that point I'll already have gotten smacked around! I don't need you to go tell the hall monitor, I need you to step in and block the punches! ๐
So yea, we've failed Ukraine on MULTIPLE occasions now and I've openly apologized on Ukrainian channels for my country failing to PROPERLY help. Because our inaction just gave ol Puddin Pants that he's invincible and can get away with whatever he wants. We indirectly caused this... and sending aid just isn't enough!
(YouTube doesn't like me talking bad against R... And I've held back in this comment, having to be slightly vague (I suspect just mentioning the countries like I have, will be empty to get this comment removed... But I hope not...)

ย @hokiturmixย You bring up a good point, about fighting the entire county.
Which even Ukraine has, itself, leveraged to great effect! So many civilians who are unable to fight, but WANT to fight, have been allowed to defend their county through Ukraine's brilliant phone app(s).
They already had utilized app(s) to unify many of the country's services, which allowed them to piggyback off of that framework โ to "weaponize" it in essence โ by allowing civilians to send alerts about incoming airborne threats. If drones or missiles were spotted, people could mark the location and direction of them, which prompted AA batteries to prepare themselves... Absolutely genius, if you ask me!
(I wouldn't doubt they've done more since then, and probably provide civilians the ability to deliver other intelligence, like troop movements... but that's purely speculation on my part)
Point being, everyone wants to help defend their country, and Ukraine is providing their people with even more non-combative forms of contribution! ๐ค
They're pioneering modern warfare, as far as I'm concerned. โบ๏ธ

ย @MarcosElMalo2ย I doubt Ukraine is using any munitions that contain shrapnel that can't be medically detected, because those sorts of weapons are considered unlawful ("banned", if you rather) for use against other nations. I say this, because it would severely hamper Ukraine's "War Crimes" trials' efforts towards Russia, if they were also committing them. Zelenskey is clearly a really smart guy and being that they wanted in NATO years ago but were declined, I anticipate he'll play this "By the Book", to ensure they're accepted after the dust settles.
That being said, there IS a caveat to all of this "banned weapons" in treaties...
Which is, has Russia has already used this type of weapon against Ukraine? In which case, if they have then Ukraine is permitted to utilize them as well (if they want) and cannot be punished for it. _['punished' being a bit of a hollow term unfortunately, as it requires your country to recognize the ICC"s authority, which Ukraine does, but US, Russia, China and various other smaller nations do NOT sooo... They can't be punished **sigh**]
That said, if playing by the rules... Russia has thereby unlocked the following weapons for Ukraine to also utilize at their own discretion:
- White Phosphorus Incendiary weapons
- Chemical weapons [gasses; eg Mustard Gas]
- Indiscriminate (Dumb-fire) Cluster Bombs [ie bomblettes without their own targeting capabilities; targeting any area that may still have civilians present]
- Flachettes (micro-darts; basically a fin-stabilized carpenter's nail a little short than your pinky finger) I don't know if this is it's own banned item, or if it's lumped in with Cluster Munitions, so I made it a subset just in case.
Though I'm certain I've missed at least one other, maybe more...
Thankfully (?I guess?) there's no Unlockable Achievement in war for the other war crimes like Pillaging Civilian Property, Razing Civilian Structures, Murdering Civilians, Torturing or Rape (the last two I believe are "full stop", not even of enemy soldiers, but I could be wrong...)

Side Question: Is it YouTube (app, video, content creator, etc) at fault, or something intentionally done by you (The Enforcer) that caused the video to be so small?
With my phone on portrait, it filled the allotted content box size just fine; however, rotating to landscape and the video frame basically remained the same size, with a huge amount of black borders on all sides... (or also wouldn't respond to a double tap to 'zoom' in to fill the screen; hence my thought it might be YT's fault somehow)
=====
That being said, why no mention of the ""T-90"" variants? (quotes because, as you've pointed out, it's still just a T-72, so the new model number is a bit of a misnomer)
As far as I know, there's been at least a handful of T-90s destroyed by Ukraine, which frankly I find surprising that Russia hasn't rolled those out en masse...
Are they wanting to hold them back as a "just in case", in order to protect the motherland should Russia end up being invaded?
Or are those actually more of an export-only model, kinda like the Su-57?
As always, thanks for your reporting!! ๐โค๏ธ

ย @JeepGirl941ย I've heard that it's a cultural thing, moreso than here in "The West", to not show any sign of weakness.
However, I also believe that their mob-run style of government is exacerbating matters. None of the underlings want to deliver bad news, since that would make them seem weak and incompetent, but also because their kleptocractic system would result in them no longer getting a slice of the pie. (assuming they're still alive, after taking at their duties)
So I think everything is a mix of lies and false bravado, where Puddin Pants is being fed half truths that actually make him think they are doing well, but even on those where he IS told the truth and knows they're losing, he still won't back down...
That's just my take, though.
I could be completely wrong! ๐คทโโ๏ธโบ๏ธ
But I do think he was fed a healing plate of ๐๐ฉ by his underlings before the start of this war, as to me that would explain why he would actually claim they're doing this due to there being "notseas" and that Ukrainians are pleading to be saved.
(I have to "obfuscate" some words, because the YT automoderation system has it in for me and certain words trigger it to remove my comments ๐ Even still, there's a high chance this will get removed, so we'll see!)

Remember... those Weaps are indeed banned, BUT, those very treaties also PERMIT their usage by a country IF an adversary uses them FIRST!
So any that get used there, legally become 'unlocked' for UA to use... if they should want to (and if they even have them to use). I doubt they will, as they haven't used White P (that I'm aware of), despite it having been used against them on many many occasions.
It's a very important distinction to note, since it's meant to act as a deterrent, should anyone decide to unlawfully use them. (granted, 'unlawfully' in terms of countries that signed the treaties)
[I have used short hand and vague terms in this comment to try and prevent YT's automoderation system from removing this comment, since it has it in for me these days. However, I still expect it to be deleted even though it's completely factual... ๐ฎโ๐จ So if either Enforcer reads this before it gets removed, maybe you can spread this info. EDIT: It did indeed get removed, so I've changed a couple words in hopes that'll do the trick this time (doubtful) EDIT2: It might've passed this time!]

ย @zachnar0125ย Yea people have lost sight of things...
Admittedly, _shamefully_, I didn't know anything about Ukr before the invasion*, nevermind said memorandum... So when I did learn of it, damn that made me mad.
(* a fact over which I've apologized to folk like Starsky, Denys Davydov, and any Ukrainian I've come across in comments; Starsky in particular has shown me that the sense of humor I have and which defines me as a person, is exactly the same as theirs... we are kindred spirits)
SPECIFICALLY that the US and UK signed it and we've done nothing up until now, because you know damn well the ONLY reason we signed it was as an assurance to Ukr-then that we wouldn't let Ruz renege on the agreement...
And what did they do? Reneged.
And what did we do? Jack shit. ๐
Made me ashamed of my country.
The words of that agreement, yes, only state that in any such situation where their sovereignty was threatened that we would only go to the UN on their behalf... However, the basis of that agreement, giving up their โข๏ธ arsenal and the very thing that would've protected them from such a situation, to ME that document was saying _"we'll protect you"_! And we didn't... ESPECIALLY when it was that very country who we were signing it with and simply to keep them in check... was the one doing the invading. ๐ฎโ๐จ
Anyways, sorry for ranting ๐ฅด
I'm sure the automoderation system will smite this comment down anyways (hence not using the full country name; I've found that for me, it's a trigger), but sometimes I get lucky, so maybe this is one of them! ๐ค๐

Their trolls flag our posts, which then puts us on the automoderation system's shitlist, but officially, we're technically not in timeout ๐ฎโ๐จ
I've been dealing with it for about a year now. You have to REALLY tiptoe on eggshells. Use vague references to people and places (I say Pudding Pants, Ruz, and Ukr; don't use their flags), and instead say things like "unalived", etc etc.
Further tips:
- Copy your Replies before posting, as they won't be visible to copy of they get hidden (they're actually not removed, just publicly invisible)
- Exit that comment thread, wait 2 minutes and then go back in; if it's there still, everyone can see it.
- If you're making a standalone comment, wait 45 seconds and then click on it; if it gives you an "Error loading comment" it's hidden, otherwise it's visible. IF hidden, edit it, copy the comment, cancel and start a new comment. Make minor edits to it to remove any buzzwords, then try again and repeat the steps.
- If you notice COMPLETELY unrelated comments being removed elsewhere around YT (ie places unrelated to politics, news, world events), copy your comment, copy the video link, and send a YT Feedback. Give them the video link (for context), tell them your comment was removed without merit, and paste the comment for them to see. This won't do anything, BUT I've made it a mission to annoy the hell out of them with EVERY SINGLE COMMENT OF MINE THEY REMOVE! Some days they'll get a handful of feedbacks... Others, more. ๐ (I have noticed it's been a LITTLE better for me since I started doing this, but I doubt they're reinstating the comment; I usually made corrections and reposted it anyways, telling them what minor change allowed it to remain visible)
Welcome to the club. ๐ป โฅ๏ธ โ๏ธ

Reminds me of the "ARCHER: 1999" season of the show Archer, and one of the episodes features a sentient doomsday device, who was aptly called Mr. Deadly ๐
"I would like to explode at the earliest opportunity."
"The sole aim of my being is to explode."
The whole episode was him trying to convince someone to ask him to detonate (as he can't do it himself). He was even having a conversation, via pheromones, with a butterfly and asked if it would ask him to explode ๐
Mr Deadly: The butterfly. A remarkable illustration of the capacity of living things... to change.
Lana: Hey, is that something you think you might be able to... What's going on, bud?
Mr Deadly: Oh, I'm conversing with the butterfly via pheromones. I just asked it to say, "Please detonate."
Lana: I thought you weren't gonna try to explode!
Mr Deadly: That's not... anything I said.
Mr Deadly: Anyway, it was a hard pass. Much more foul-mouthed than I expected.
Mr Deadly: Same to you, you bastard! <shakes fist>
Archer: <sarcastically> Well, then I guess we're safe.
Sorry... It's just a great show, and episode! Makes me chuckle just reading the transcript ๐

Great news, paving the way for safer skies, even before their new toys take flight this summer! ๐ Well done, boys... well done... ๐๐
[YT's automated moderation algorithm thinks I'm a horrible person and basically removes half of my comments, even ones in jest on comedy channels. I've basically given up commenting entirely but this news deserved praising our guys; however, this is why I've worded the above the way I did, to not give their algorithm any reason to silence my praise of their work. Hopefully those hearts get a pass, as using them before was enough to do one of my comments in, but that's also why I've foregone my typical glory related sign-off message. ๐ (and yes, I've contacted YT about this about half a dozen times in the last few months, to no avail)]

Zelenskyy is a very smart individual (any who claim otherwise it's a hater or a troll), and I can honestly see this move it trying to court China, solely as a way to coax some Western countries into contributing more to this effort. At the end of the day, way more COULD be contributed, than is being... basically, current contributions are slightly above "bare minimum" in my opinion.
So if saying they're willing to get in bed with China, lights a fire under our counties' collective asses, then I say bravo! ๐๐ ๐
Talk is cheap, and at the end of the day, even if China DOES offer support (regardless of the type; monetary or physical goods), Zelenskyy can always refuse it for <insert polite reason>!

Scuttlebutt is, that the cluster munitions are more for their bomblettes, than as a delivery method... That they want to replace the RPG warheads on drones with these, which would be smart. (apparently these bomblettes have more penetration power)
Even if they didn't want to do that, they don't have to worry about repercussions about using the cluster munitions, based on what I've read regarding banned weapons (the Wiki pages on the treaties).
Because what's stated is that if any participant in a skirmish decides to use banned munitions, that immediately unlocks the other party/ies ability to use them in kind.
As such, Russia has already unlocked the use of cluster munitions, white phosphorous, flechettes and chemical (gas) if early rumors of their use are true. (and I'm sure they are, since interviewed civilians had stated troubles breathing)

Worth mentioning is that TACTICAL nukes are low-yield, useful for leveling towns /neighborhoods at its largest, not an entire large-city.
So yea, it's certainly only symbolic.
Also, 'dumb' cluster munitions, from what I've read, are NOT banned by any nation UNLESS they are being used in civilian populated areas.
Ideally, cluster munitions would be filled with lots of small Smart munitions, which can be instructed to hit precise locations.
RUSSIA does not use such munitions, and that's what makes their usage of them, a war-crime, due to using them in areas that are still populated by civilians. (of course, Ruskie logic seems to be: anyone still residing within the country they're attacking, is thereby considered a hostile, and fair game ๐)

My new interpretation on the timeframe on F-16s, is not that the pilots need to undergo English lessons, but probably the ground crew who will...
The amount of English inside the cockpit is probably minimal and well-understood already; HOWEVER, the amount of English inside the repair manuals is probably extensive!
I suspect there's validity to the holdup, but that the reports on said holdup is focused too heavily on minor details, overplaying their significance, thereby clouding the true reasoning.
Now, whether that's an OpSec play, or, the media being the media...... ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I feel the odds there are firmly 50|50, and it could be either.

I agree with Jacek... It should've been removed from their skies. It's NOT escalating anything by doing so. It was in violation and as such, would be removed. Yes, it's obvious where it was going, BUT, they can't say with 100% certainty it was actually headed to UKR...
Had it veered off course and taken out a border checkpoint, would they still not do anything in order to, once again, not escalate things?? Where do they draw the line?? ๐ฎโ๐จ
Next week it might be 3 CM... well they also be ignored and allowed to continue on through? This very sort of continual inaction is what makes Puddin Pants feel like he can do whatever he wants, whenever, wherever... ๐
Rest assured, if any Western country did that over you-know-where's skies, THEY would've taken that very same thing as an act of aggression, and the gloves would've been off at that point!
(apologies for the vaguely worded maybe, but hopefully in doing so the automoderation system won't remove this comment, as it is want to do lately...)

ย @GWNorth-db8vnย Well, I decided to do dog into this a bit, and it seems that some cruise missiles are able to be retasked after launch, and, even be remotely controlled.
Google using as easy to search as it was decades ago, so finding what I want is harder, as it wants to hold my hand and return what if THINKS I want. (eg, I searched "cruise missile" and it returns results about Patriot air defense... ๐)
That being said: Here's one example...
The US AGM-84 SLAM-ER [Wiki]
"The SLAM-ER can be remotely controlled while in flight, and it can be redirected to another target after launch if the original target has already been destroyed, or is no longer considered to be dangerous."
And the Shahed-136... [Forbes, via Defense Express]
Apparently it's also capable of being reprogrammed in-flight; however, cannot be remotely controlled. But it is very much a pre-programmed flight path and therefore can only target static targets. ("pre-programmed" in that it cannot make dynamic changes to its own flight path; not that programming is only possible prior-to the launch)
(but yes, I'm familiar with drones previously being in reference to remote targeting drones, which are usually just inexpensive purpose made aircraft, but then eventually also included re-purposed jets; the F-4 Phantom II were turned into targeting drones, for example)

"and it is obviously not good for peace"
No, Putin is not good for peace...
This, I think, is a rare occasion where sending a superior force in, WOULD BE good for peace! As doing so would put an end to Russia's tirade, since it seems like the majority of Russian soldiers (based on intercepted phonecalls) are motivated because of their hatred of Ukrainians, but already feel overwhelmed...
So, if NATO โ or the UN, but we know they won't do shit โ were to enter the fray, I'm quite convinced that it would be enough to hastily defeat and push out Russian troops from Ukraine and Crimea in about a month's time. Even if it takes 2, it's far and away quicker than this war would be resolved if left to only Ukraine fighting.
Russia has_ALREADY_ made this a war that's effecting the whole world, so it's a bit silly to keep on like we are. Russia isn't impacting the grain export to hurt Ukraine, because we're still going to send the needed supplies (since Ukraine isn't paying for it 'on delivery'), and reparations will make Ukraine whole after this is all said and done.
I dunno... My two cents...

Unfortunately, they still feel like they're winning, because on paper (maps only) it could be argued they are, and will come to the table thinking they're in a position of power...
Reality is, they're not, and the war of attrition is not currently in their favor.
Problem is that Donny feels the need to flex and be a negotiator, a role he's I'll equipped for in too many ways... Which as we saw last time he was in office, if he doesn't get his way he'll throw a literal tantrum! (see: him wanting dirt on Hunter)
Problem is, I don't see Puddin respecting any other country as a mediator. I doubt France anymore, given their willingness to help out with boots on the ground now. So it's pretty much a situation where neither side will agree to anything (not that Ukr should), and I feel like the only way this stops is through someone's surrender/withdrawl... ๐

ย @surpriseitsus9622ย Thanks! I've found a few checks I can perform to tell if my comments removed... Although, technically, they are only 'hidden', as they still are in our comment history.
I'll share them here for you and anyone else to utilize if needed:
When making a COMMENT (not a reply), you can click on it to go into the "comment thread" (even if no one has replied... If it's been removed, you'll get an "Error" and the "Retry" button. The automated system (algorithm based) usually removes them within 30-45 seconds after submitting it.
If you're REPLYING to someone, that method isn't possible... BUT, if you wait a minute or so and then Edit your reply (clicking the three-dots to the right), make a change, and then try to save it... If it fails to save then that again means it's been removed.
(this also works with commenting, but it's just easier to click your comment to check)

As much as I would love to think that... Sadly I doubt it'll be the case, and here's why:
- First and foremost, anyone considering buying from Russia will be drinking their kool-aid, and will believe anything they are told. Therefore, is Russia says these systems are infallible, with a perfect record... the buying country will believe it! Furthermore, If they are willing to go with Russia, they've clearly not been paying too close of attention to the war, which is also why they'd but into whatever they get told...
- Second, if they are willing to buy from Russia, that pretty much means they're shunned from buying elsewhere, leaving them no choice BUT to buy from Russia (or Iran, but they have their hands full and likely won't want to export anything currently). OR, they are already under sanctions and that's why.
- Lastly... Price... There's probably going to be a fire sale soon! But even if there isn't, their prices will likely be low because RU needs to make a buck, which we all know they will be desperate to do, if they are still a nation in the coming years! (my prediction has been that things snowball in 2025, and split up in 2027)
[cue the YT automoderation algorithm removing this comment, because I've said not-nice things about the invading nation...]

So today I am pretty sure I figured out the reason or motivating behind why Putin does what he does.... Simply, it's because he's fucking bored! ๐
Seriously, think about it. When a dog is bored, often times that's when they become destructive. How about extreme sports people? They didn't start there, they worked up to it...
Welp, that's Putin. He was a spy once upon a time, thrilling work I could imagine, even for the ones that were data analysts (not saying he was) since you'd always have your brain firing on all cylinders. Which on top of that, for an in-the-field spy, there'd be adrenaline rushes.
Now as time marched on after he became a politician, and the world climate stabilizes, what's there for him to do? For a guy like that I can't imagine running a country is all that fun. He had reached the top. He has the ability to do whatever he wants and likely has done most of it early on....
So when he gets bored? What, you expect him to play video games or read a good book?
Fuuuuck no! He's like a dog and wants destruction. He rigs an election (or, fixes it after losing), or starts shit by invading a country, or ways to screw with economy or supply chains, or have his critics killed!
Thing is, I don't know if this is better or worse than my initial thinking, where he was terminally ill (but has some years left) and is trying to leave some kind of "legacy" by increasing Russia's borders in a meaningful way.... Meaning he isn't wanting Russia to be in a bad state when he finally kicks the bucket, so he'd be conducting major actions BUT would only be bluffing when it came to using nukes...
Because now, if the last 15 years have been boredom-fueled, I'm worried that means he might go nuclear ๐ Right now, his carelessness seems to be very much like a man who's playing the boardgame RISK. His army, to him, are nothing more than plastic pieces on a map, not humans going to slaughter ๐
Thoughts?? ๐
Am I onto something, or just on something? ๐คช

โย @flouisbaileyย Unfortunately, the last one we had, allowed way too much to go on, withholding aid over a personal vendetta (aka childish reasons). I'm just glad he wasn't around for this invasion, otherwise Ukraine would've been steamrolled ๐ (hell, he probably would've tried to ASSIST in said steamrolling)
I'm just glad this administration had enough foresight to sign us up for 8 years of guaranteed aid to Ukraine, just incase Mr. ๐๐๐ did end up being reelected.
But you're not wrong... FAR too little has been done! We should've had troops helping with frontline defense since June of 2022, as it's the least we could do to make up for letting Puddin Pants get away with the various shit he's started over the last two decades... all of which inflated his ego and made him feel like he could do WHATEVER he wanted (because let's face it, we let him).
But more specifically, for us pledging our support to help protect their sovereignty in exchange for giving up their nukes (Budapest Memorandum), and then letting all the crap happen over there! Which you know the only reason the US and UK were signers of it was solely as an assurance that the other signer, Russia, would keep to THEIR word... because oh look, they didn't!
Still... Even IF most of what's gone on in Ukraine since becoming a sovereign country was related to internal corruption and thereby nothing we could get involved with (as per the Memorandum), Crimea should NEVER have gotten to the point of annexation. ๐
Our complacency was, and continues to be, completely inexcusable... ๐ฎโ๐จ
(I'm almost positive the automoderation system will strike this comment down, since I've used trigger words AND it's "strongly worded"... but maybe not ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐ค)

Small additional point on Cluster Munitions:
The big dislike is against DUMB Cluster Munitions! They are fired and dispersed, with zero targeting abilities, so the bomblettes will strike and explode any target in range (note: they typically disperse in-air to widen the impact area).
The use of Smart Cluster Munitions, are not frowned upon, stove each bomblette then can target something of its own (example: the "BONUS" artillery round that can drop multiple parachute munitions behind the primary round, each parachute device can track and streer to its target).
Another big difference, it's the Smart munitions have self destruct timers, in the same way that all modern infantry landmines are supposed to have self-disposal timed detonators (ahem, Russia.... you've already been caught not using them, after running out of the smart variants!)
So the US is free to send cluster munitions, and Ukraine free to use them, SO LONG AS neither their self-disposal, nor their smart targeting features, are tampered with.
BUT... And this is the interesting part... The treaties state that (closely paraphrased) "once a banned munition is utilized, it 'unlocks' then for the other side to utilize, without fear of legal repercussions".
In other words... Due to Russia having used many of the various types of banned munitions โ chemical (speculated), flechettes (unconfirmed but photographed), white phosphorus (undeniably used), dumb-cluster bombs (early days; undeniable) โ IF Ukraine wanted to, they could.
However, Ukraine is playing this war very very smart, doing everything as by-the-book as possible. They DO NOT want to be looked at in the same way we all look at Russia, as that would risk their much-needed support.... a very commendable stance to take, since it only makes their tall that much harder. ๐ข๐ซก
( P.S. - the "shotgun" analogy isn't great, since they use a HIMARS round that is literally just that, containing something like 160,000 tungsten rounds, to shred any light-armor/soft-body targets below its airburst detonation point. )
[source: one of the many banned munitions treaties; I went down a Wiki rabbit hole last year, so I'm not sure which specific one I read, but I think it was the same the detailed flechette rounds being banned (looking at you, AGAIN, Russia! ๐)]_
That being said: Are smart cluster munitions still a problem for civilians, despite these safeguards? Certainly. Other than for the obvious fact they're still explosives, their safeguards undoubtedly have an "acceptable failure rate", causing them to fail to self-dispose, or for their targeting to fail and hit civilian inhabited buildings.

Just another person here, wanting to express his gratitude for what you've done with these Summary Videos. Unfortunately, I live in a 'rural' part of podunk Tennessee and as such I'm not blessed with access to any semblance of modern internet, so I don't have the luxury of watching (long) live streams thanks to monthly bandwidth allowances.
Sadly, I only stumbled onto you just around the time you had started to get burned out... ๐ฅด
Anyways, thanks for enduring all that you have (and still do) in order to make those summaries! I had always assumed they were just cut-together segments from your live stream... As a thought, maybe that's still possible, to spare having to re-watch things, particularly uncensored things? Then, instead of including new voiceover, it could instead be captions (as I'm assuming that often, the live stream commentary would not be suitable/succinct to use)?
But I digress... What you've provided, it was invaluable on account of our American news having (understandably) shifted focus to covering our own unending nonsense; therefore, thank you for filling in that gap! ๐ค

ย @GWNorth-db8vnย I know. I've been dealing with it for months now. It's because they've reported our comments as Misinformation ("our" as in those I've talked to experiencing the exact same thing). They aren't deleted in the strictest sense, but are "hidden". They still show up in the "Your Data On YouTube" comments page, and I can navigate to them that way, but they are publicly hidden.
Over these months I've figured out a lot of the boundaries to be able to, most times, tiptoe around it. Even by posting the same content with a few choice words removed. (edit: posting the same, unedited comment, has only led to it being removed as well)
It's definitely intentional by YT's automoderation algorithm, but they have the sensitivity dialed WAY up, and it removes stuff that it shouldn't. (I've had jokes removed, although I totally get why it would, as I'm sure a trained algo has just as much difficulty discerning sarcasm online as we do lol)
Trust me, I do not throw around a term like "blacklist" without confidence. I've not changed how I've talked since Feb 2022, and never had a comment vanish up until 6-8mo ago! I've contacted YT about it over half a dozen times, to no avail. Even providing them with my exact comment that was removed.
(I'll be surprised if this is doesn't vanish heh)
(edit: color me surprised, it survived! [if it stays up after 45sec, it hasn't been removed])

ย @patrickkelly6691ย Apologies, I didn't mean to give off vibes that Archer did it first, as I was aware that wasn't the case. The entire season that episode was part of, "Archer - 1999" as I mentioned (and 2 other seasons), consisted entirely of episodes that paid homage to pop culture (and cult classic) movies, and also books I think (I'm not a book reader, myself). It also included internal throwbacks/inside jokes to the series, itself, despite being what one could deem "standalone" in both season and episodes (the episodes might even fit the definition of "anthology").
The season's teaser (played at the end of the previous season), and the immediate first moments of the season's first episode, are right out of Alien, as another pop culture example.
I won't give away the why on the reasoning for why it, and a few seasons prior, deviated so drastically far from the series' original story and plot, as doing so would be a massive spoiler...
However, 1999 and the previous season called Danger Island are some of my fav episodes! Right up there with Archer Vice, which... well, I'm not sure calling that season an homage OR spinoff for Miami Vice would be correct, as it's more the opposite of that show... but the season title certainly is! ๐
Hopefully the show can get itself back into the groove it originally had, as in my opinion, it has kinda sucked since 1999 ended. Still though, that's 10 seasons of pure greatness, which I frequently re-watch! โค๏ธ โบ๏ธ

ย @cyberGEKย I'd be understanding of it, if it was SOLELY on these sort of channels, but... it's happening to me all over YT.
Actually, oddly enough, the one place it WASN'T happening, was on Operator Starsky's channel... go figure.
But as my name implies, I'm long winded in my commenting, and having comments I've put many minutes into, end up getting removed for god knows what reason... that was what broke me. No rhyme or reason, and gone within 30sec of me hitting submit (which is how I know it's the algo and not a human) ๐ฎโ๐จ
I'd like to say I'm glad I'm in good company, but it's not right that we're becoming 'collateral damage', and it just makes it that much more frustrating. ๐ช
It is kinda good to know I'm not alone, so thank you! ๐ป

โโย @ะะผะธััะธะนะะฝะดัะธะฐะฝะพะฒ-ะน4ัย NATO invoking A.5 would be a GOOD thing, in my eyes...
Russia currently cannot even handle UKRAINE on its own (albeit, with supplies from others), so NATO doing so would effectively end the war, as Russia would be completely overwhelmed.
Now, I'm not saying they ought to attack Russia/Belarus, but to go in and help to remove their presence from Ukraine (and Crimea)!
And no, I do not think Putin is stupid enough to use nukes, even if NATO (or the UN) was to get involved in the capacity I've mentioned above...
However, if they pushed across their borders... THEN I would start to be concerned, but only then. Putin authorizing the use of even the small Tactical nuke, would spell his own death, by one means or another! He has shown he enjoys his life, and his power... So I do not see him doing anything brazen like that, as it would immediately threaten his own safety!
He's an asshole....
He's pretty stupid.....
But, his self-preservation is still fully functional.

I've strongly said said the very first nuclear weapon that, that Russia will not go the nuclear route... It would be literal suicide for Putin. It would undoubtedly spur a joint black ops mission by many countries, to go in and take him out!
That's assuming the command actually gets carried out! Because I'm a bit torn on whether such command would be, since those subordinates would all know it would lead to Russia's demise, whereas disobeying it would only be the likely demise of that individual... but family and friends would probably survive. A worthy self sacrifice, in my opinion.
But yea, Russia's that's have ALWAYS been hollow, in my eyes.
Not just for the above reasoning either!
But because Putin wants Ukraine, and having irradiated pockets of land does you NO good!
Which one might say: "but, their plans for the dirty bombs with the power plant(s)"...
To which I say: Russians CLEARLY have no idea just how bad that would be, since they AREN'T TAUGHT ABOUT SUCH INCIDENTS!
Chornobyl (Ukrainian spelling), swept under the rug, and we already know Russia has no qualms about erasing history from their textbooks soccer it's happened already during this war... All one had to do is look towards their occupation of Chornobyl at the beginning of the war, and all the STUPID shit they were doing in the red zone. So soldiers and likely even those in command, probably thinks that turning a nuclear power plant into a dirty bomb would only be bad for a couple years, in the surrounding area. The concept of wine blowing irradiated dust into Russia is probably a foreign concept to them! ๐๐

I'm starting to wonder, again, if Putin's mental health is compromised........ ๐คจ๐
Like, sincerely.
First, he clearly thinks he is doing well in this war (thinks he's winning, when he's only been fighting Ukraine... it'd be over in a month, if NATO/UN stepped in! lol).
Second, he thinks he has some untapped reservoir if well trained soldiers.
Third, he thinks he has some untapped reservoir of functional equipment.
In terms of conventional warfare, Russia just doesn't pose a threat to anyone, yet he's talking like he could steamroll Europe!
The only credible threat Russia possess to the outside world (they'll always be a threat to themselves) is a nuclear threat!
I've said it from the very beginning, I do not think Russia (Putin) is THAT stupid, to use nukes. He loves the power he has and wants to keep it. Using nukes would end his reign (and his country), and that's assuming his subordinates carry out their command to issue launch orders, or that those turning their launch keys will go through with it.
(granted, Russians have been indoctrinated to not think for themselves, so... maybe they would go through with it?? ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐ค๐)
Either way... Slava Ukraini! โ๐บ๐ฆ ๐ฑ

โโย @BalboBiggins-le1nlย Nuclear Weapons use their highly refined [see: "weapons grade"] fissil material to create an explosion of immense size.
Nuclear Power Plants, for starters, do not use weapons grade material.
Therefore, what they said it's 100% correct: a nuclear power plant is NOT a "nuclear weapon", and at worst it's a "dirty bomb".
A "dirty bomb" being any weapon that uses radioactive material, whose explosion is to DISPERSE said material across a very large area, blanketing it in radioactive particles. (ideally, these would be donated high above ground, to facilitate dispersal)
It's perfectly ok to not know about things and ask questions...
It's not ok when you don't know about things, and then say incorrect things with confidence, as though you're right...
โ๏ธ
edit: here's an analogy for you... think of it like alcohol...
Alcohol with a very high 'proof' (the '%', or ABV; 200 proof = 100% alcohol) is very flammable, and can even be used as fuel (ie: Ethanol). High Proof alcohol is therefore like Weapons Grade fissil material.
However, the vast majority of alcohol on the market is NOT high proof. They contain alot of water and sugars in them, and as such, isn't flammable. Most alcohol sold is therefore like Nuclear Fuel Rods and incapable of being used in an engine as an alternative fuel. (trying to run your vehicle on these will 'Hydrolock' your engine; even something quite flammable like Vodka isn't smart).

ย @GarrisonFallย A more-than fair point, for anyone living in, or around Belarus...
However, the silver lining is, thankfully Belarus doesn't have a completely unhinged leader... Unrightfully appointed, certainly, but he seems to just be a chest thumper, instead of a crazy bastard like his buddy Putin. Which I guess was my point, as he's the one we all have to worry about, and it's frightening that he has so many nukes at his disposal.
I only say it's symbolic because they no doubt were only given to act as a deterrent from anyone trying to invade Belarus, or potentially to deter their people from rising up to overthrow the illegitimate Lukashenko.
(which was much harder for the Belarusians in 2020 due to this war not having consumed all of Russia's resources/manpower to send over to help Lukashenko; now though, would be a more ideal time to attempt it, as I feel more of their military would currently be willing to participate in removing Lukashenko)
EDIT: Unless you're American... In which case, you don't have to worry about Belarus and tactical nukes... as they lack the means to get anywhere close to us in N. America... (Strategic Nukes ride on ICBMs; Tactical are delivered via bombs or artillery shells/rockets [aka short-range munitions])
