  2. I feel like Battlestar Galactica S1's first episode titled "33", is a great analog to this. (note: this isn't the first episode of the series, as the mini-series pilot episodes came before it) Synopsis: _"Having fled the besieged Ragnar Anchorage, the convoy of refugee spaceships is relentlessly pursued and attacked by Cylons. The colonial fleet must execute a faster-than-light (FTL) jump every 33 minutes to escape the Cylons, who consistently arrive at the new jump coordinates approximately 33 minutes later. After over 130 hours and 237 jumps, the fleet's crew and passengers, particularly those aboard Galactica, have been operating without sleep while facing the strain of nearly constant military action." After every jump, all their pilots and "ground" crew are scrambling to prepare the Vipers (single seat fighters) and Raptors (2-3 crewed bombers/EW) to launch again every 33 minutes. They're usually not engaging into a huge battle every time, but are out there to protect the flotilla as the enemies (Cylons) deploy from their own fighters from their battleship-carriers. All the while the pilots are using stims to keep them sharp, which is also screwing with their judgement due to no sleep. So whilst I don't think our men and women are living like that, it might actually be just as stress inducing because there ISN'T a like-clockwork pattern to the attacks. So our navy is basically always on pins and needles, not knowing when the next all hands on deck will occur... I'm glad no one has been seriously hurt, unlike on BSG where they didn't leave unscathed. 🫡 to our men and women... ❤️🤍💙
