Totally agree.
I'm in my 40s now and I've been making it a point to be ok with being wrong, but also being open about it by including in comments something like "I could be wrong, and I'm fine with that if so".
For example (mind you this doesn't at all compare to how important it was for Alex): on a Community Post with a Poll by an entertainment-oriented channel about an upcoming video, a comment had said how in no way would something be able to happen. I replied saying that I felt strongly that it would, given the speed the object would be traveling.
Well, the video game out, and... I was totally wrong!
However, I didn't leave it at that. I immediately paused the video and went to that CP, tracked down that comment, then replied to admit he was right and I was not.
While it definitely sucks to be wrong in the moment, but to anyone reading this I want you to know, in the long run it feels better to admit to it! You may not be able to take pride in being right, but you can take pride in being a stand up person after the fact. 😊
