  1. Alex, you mention how the gov't may not want to put all their eggs in one manufacturer's basket (eg NGAD & B-21)... So then, what are the chances that the NGAD & its drone counterpart will both be made by the same manufacturer?? On the one hand, it's as you said, not spreading one contractor thin, and that makes sense for this, too. (particularly since the drone will also play wingman to the F-35) On the other hand... keeping them both made by one company allows for shared parts/designs, and thereby makes servicing that much easier. (being able to repair a fighter by cannibalizing a drone, in the field, seems like a big plus to me) Thus why I ask for your take....

  2. I thought the same thing, about the image being on the tent tarp... But then I concluded that if they wanted to misdirect like that, they could just use a flat tarp without the obvious tent pole bulges. So my thought was the "shadow" is just image ghosting due to the speed the satellite is traveling. It's in the correct direction, after all. Granted, even that seems a bit 'off', given the age of technology we're in and the fact it's a static object (whereas that phenomena does still occur with in flight aircraft that get photographed)... So I'm not entirely convinced that's the purpose, either. 🤷‍♂️ It's curious, though, that much I can agree on!
