  1. I share both of your sentiments. I had an internal debate with myself yesterday over the discussions of Russia being a nuclear power, which I concluded as you have... Anyone who would want to decimate a country to later control it, simply would not resort to nuclear weapons. Even if it's mining resources, the cost of rad-hardening everything needed, and equipping all the scrubbing needed to keep people alive, it's ludicrously prohibitive. So in the same sense, leveling Ukraine is simply not in Russia's best interests, when rebuilding everything to make it a useful, functional, and habitable region would be outside of NOT ONLY Russia's financial means, but industrial means -- lacking what's necessary to create the components for repairing certain critical pieces of infrastructure. It's not like after they've taken Over Ukraine, everyone is going to forget about it and go back to "business as usual" by exporting these things to Russia! lol (Frankly, I'm not sure what the fuck Putin thought would happen, even by invading, regardless of whether they manage to capture any meaningful real estate... Unless he's hoping/expecting to be assassinated, and this is just the last part hurrah of a madman??)
