It's a little known fact that in 1980, there was a Kaiju attack... But thanks to being near the Atols in the Pacific, it went unnoticed. Lots of military ordinance was expended, and since we couldn't write it ALL off on "training exercises", nor could we explain what the rest was actually used for.... The US military secretly contacted McDonalds to buy the killed Kaiju's remains!
And so, in 1981, after a year of development... McDonald's debuted their product: the McRib
Now you know why it has only periodically ever come back for limited time runs... The meat is kept in cold storage, knowing that it would only last so long! Whereas of they put it on the menu and it was successful, then they'd eventually have to pull it, which would create outrage!
Doing it this way, though, ensures it's available for decades, and maintains the demand. 😉

My April Fools story...
Almost a decade ago, I played on a Minecraft server enough to become staff, mostly because it was a server that my crappy cellular home-internet connection had a low enough latency on... not because I was into the theme of that server, as it was Percy Jackson related (and I was in my early 30s). But, as I was playing with a younger friend who WAS into PJ, I tolerate it 😅
Nevertheless, I spent a lot of time there, getting to know many players very well, despite the fact that they were all roughly 13 years old. However, the owner was a highschooler and a complete asshat... Eventually he was ruining the server, and I was going to leave, but made an offer to buy the server from him for a couple grand (we ran off donations, so I knew I could make it back).
Sale took place mid March... Then April 1st rolls around and I decided to prank everyone. I created a news post on our website which said that the old owner had contacted me and wanted to buy the server back, and... I decided to go through with it...
Yea, in hindsight, NOT my finest moment lol
What resulted was lots of the players ACTUALLY crying because of that news! 🥺 Those kids meant a lot to be, obviously, since I was willing to spend that much on a game server.
But yea, as successful a prank as it was, it was a hollow success on account of making good kiddos legitimately sad.
The next year I did it much better, but modifying a commonly played sound file in our server texture/sound pack. Which meant that anyone who connected, automatically had that sounds pack applied 😁
It was harmless though, as it was just an Air Horn sound that played after you ate food – which was done often, by everyone! 🤣
[/story time]
Anyways, I agree with Alex. It should be required that any April Fools articles immediately have [APRIL FOOLS] appended to the beginning of the article title, come April 2nd (or no later than April 7th). That way, in the future, even in search results it will be plainly obvious it's an April Fools article! That way you don't have to even waste your time by clicking through.
