I wouldn't be surprised if either: A) there's a standing order to "fuck with any unarmed aircraft however you like", because making war 'fun' will boost morale B) there's a bounty program for downing enemy aircraft, so that the wreckage can be recovered and studied, similar to how there's one in place for "Western Tanks/MGC" (or at least, for their destruction) My initial, hit reaction was that this was a commanded action by the higher-ups. Then I suspected that maybe, given how things on their army side of things are going, perhaps it was drunk pilots. Although I've scuttled that thinking, at least in terms of being completely plastered. Now? I just don't know... I'm kind of thinking "All Of The Above"... Had a shot of two already before being scrambled + Commander telling them to try and knock it down w/o weapons (plausible deniability) + ineptitude/incompetence. 🤷‍♂️ All I know is, Russia has no honor, nor glory, worth fighting for.
