  1. I'm all for keeping an open mind for this kind of thing, but Gaetz and MTG –two of the most toxic politicians– bring a huge yikes-factor to this otherwise legitimate proposal. BUT, you made some good points. The one you made in the intro is certainly very eyebrow raising! Just goes to show that, regardless of which side you're affiliated with, our government is quite fucked up... Things that should-be, or that you'd think to be common-sense, aren't, when it comes to our government. (yet, the same can be said for alot of us, as well, so it's really our problem as a whole society) I'm a unicorn though... I'm a gun-owning Democrat. (almost 15) That being said, what I've seen in just the last year, our youth has unfortunately proven to us that they aren't in the necessary mindset and lack the required discipline to be owners of certain gun types. No, it's not a problem with every single person of youth, but it's enough of them that have made it a dangerous problem. As such, I see no legitimate reason why assault-grade weapons can't have the same limitation that is put on alcohol and legal drug use: 21. Is even be alright with a system where an 30+ adult will vouch for a youth, to buy weapons, but where they become just as liable for punishment if said youth does something stupid. Just provides that extra bit of critical thinking on whether that kid's desire to own one, is for the right reasons (since obviously, anyone willing to go on a rampage isn't going to care what their own punishment is [if they live through it], whereas a cosigner definitely would) Want to own a hunting rifle? I'm all for it! 5 shots is more than adequate, and if it isn't, then it should be motivation for you to practice, not motivation to own a gun with a high capacity magazine. Whereas shotguns earn themselves a bit more freedom just through their inherent lack of accuracy (at higher distances; even rifled shottys suffer), so 8 shells isn't a big deal. Anyways, bring on the hate. 😎 It's just as much your right to dislike my opinion and voice it, as it is my right to have an opinion and voice it! 😉👍 ✌️✌️
